About us<br />
We are an international team from all over the world, speaking a variety of languages.<br />
Our office is a place where people enjoy learning about different cultures and practicing their language<br />
skills.<br />
If you want to get to know us a little more, watch our culture video on the busuu you tube channel.<br />
On your first day: Please introduce yourself on our slack channel #hiiamnew telling the team who you are<br />
and what you do, what languages you speak/learn and who you will be working with. It’s always nice to<br />
post a random fun fact about yourself, so feel free to do so!<br />

A brief history<br />
busuu was founded in 2008 by Bernhard Niesner and Adrian Hilti after graduating from IE Business<br />
School.<br />
busuu is the world’s largest social network for language learning, providing courses in 12 different<br />
languages on web and mobile to more than 60 million learners worldwide.<br />
Learners can sign up for free, or subscribe to a Premium Membership to unlock further features like<br />
grammar lessons, offline mode, McGraw-Hill certification or our adaptive vocabulary trainer.<br />

Intro to our culture<br />
Here's the bottom line. There are plenty of ways of getting things done but there are five qualities that we'll<br />
never compromise on at busuu.<br />
So the final must have you need to work at busuu is a commitment to the values that are central to our business<br />
- being Trust, Effictiveness, Ambitions, Curiosity and happiness. Get the acronym? Yes that’s right, they say<br />
TEACH!<br />
Living these five values is an essential part of working here. It's sort of fundamental.
Our perks<br />
Food: Help yourself to breakfast food + fresh fruit in the office, as well as tea and coffee. If anything is running<br />
low please add it to the ‘Weekly Shopping’ list by the toasters. Working late/ past 7pm means we will also treat<br />
you to dinner. Simply order via our delivery platform Seamless.<br />
Treats: Every Friday we order in croissants for breakfast and we have drinks at about 5pm<br />
Sometimes we also do beer pong tournaments or play flip cup!<br />
Trips: We go on regular away days and also do annual weekend trip!<br />
New employees referral bonus: If you refer someone who we end up hiring at busuu, you will be rewarded with a<br />
nice bonus of £1000. The way to refer is to use our hiring tool called Greenhouse. It’s really easy to share your<br />
tracking link for specific jobs and get the credit.<br />
After probation: You qualify for Private Healthcare, Subsidised Gym Membership and a training budget. The<br />
health & wellbeing of our team is important to us so we constantly think about new things to add.

Your first day<br />
Please arrive at the office at 10am, your first<br />
day will consist of being shown around the<br />
office and you will be introduced to the busuu<br />
team by your busuu buddy!<br />
You will be onboarded to all you need to get<br />
started by your team members .<br />
Meetings will be set up on your behalf to<br />
introduce you to all the different departments.<br />
