“Kids Art Smart”
The Salon Roux 5th Anniversary
Concert raised $14,000 for Studios on
the Park “Kids Art Smart” program that
brings elementary students to Studios for
hands-on professional art classes that are
free of charge.
Ordinarily these students (most are
low-income or at -risk) receive no formal
art education. Salon Roux owner Jacque
Leonard stated, “For our fifth year, I
wanted to give back to the community. I
know that if I hadn’t been in art classes, I
wouldn’t be where I am today. Our goal is
to raise enough money to cover the costs
for the coming school year.” The hugely
successful concert was held on August
23 at Castoro Cellars Winery featuring
A.J.Croce and The Janks.
