BOOK TIME<br />

Coloring is the new trend in relaxing.<br />

Bring an adult coloring book and your<br />

colors and join the group for fun and<br />

conversation. Coloring time takes<br />

place every Thursday at 1 pm.<br />

CRAFT GROUP<br />

Join our weekly craft group every<br />

Tuesday from 1-4 pm to sew, make<br />

cards, jewelry, and other crafts.<br />

Everyone is welcome. We’ll show<br />

you how to do it!<br />

DOMINOES<br />

Everyone is welcome to play<br />

Dominoes <strong>with</strong> us on Wednesday’s<br />

after lunch at 1 pm. We’ll give a<br />

refresher and have tons of fun!<br />

G.I. COFFEE HOUR<br />

Stop by the Senior Center every<br />

Friday at 9:30 am and catch up <strong>with</strong><br />

other veterans. Don’t be surprised<br />

if you stay more than an hour, this<br />

program is all about sharing.<br />

ANGEL PROGRAM<br />

More than 1,000 seniors are served by<br />

<strong>CVPRD</strong> each year. Educational classes,<br />

excursions and lunch programs are<br />

just a few of the many programs<br />

offered by the District. Unfortunately,<br />

not everyone can afford to take<br />

advantage of these offerings. The<br />

Angel Program allows generous<br />

members of the community to<br />

donate to those in need. Examples<br />

of Angel gifts include sponsoring a<br />

senior membership, funding a senior<br />

trip, and more. If you would like to<br />

be an Angel or are in need of an<br />

Angel, call 303-833-3660 x 117. The<br />

Angel Program is confidential.<br />

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS<br />

Keep up on your heart stats.<br />

Emergency Medical Technicians<br />

(EMTs) are available to check your<br />

blood pressure at the Senior Center<br />

the third Wednesday of the month<br />

at 11:45 am.<br />

LOAN CLOSET<br />

Participants age 60 and over and<br />

caregivers of persons age 60 and over<br />

are welcome to check out equipment<br />

from the Active Adult/Senior Center<br />

Loan Closet for personal use at home<br />

for up to two months. Equipment<br />

includes canes, wheelchairs, walkers,<br />

crutches, and shower benches. All<br />

donations are welcome.<br />

VNA MEDICAL FOOT<br />

CARE CLINIC<br />

Operated by the Visiting Nurses<br />

Association (VNA), services include<br />

foot care, health checks, and blood<br />

pressure checks. Fee for foot care is<br />

$35 ($45 for first visit of new patients)<br />

payable at time of appointment.<br />

Foot care is covered by Kaiser <strong>with</strong><br />

pre-approval. Call 303-833-2739 for<br />

an appointment the 3rd Monday of<br />

every month.<br />

LUNCH WITH A LIBRARIAN<br />

Librarians from the High Plains<br />

Library District visit the Active Adult/<br />

Senior Center the third Wednesday of<br />

the month at 11 am to issue library<br />

cards, check out books and DVDs,<br />

and answer questions.<br />

LUNCH PROGRAM<br />

Weld County’s Senior Nutrition<br />

Program provides nutritious and<br />

delicious meals for seniors every<br />

Tuesday and Thursday from<br />

noon - 1 pm at the Carbon Valley<br />

Recreation Center. The program’s<br />

meal strives to meet 33 1/3 percent<br />

of the daily recommended dietary<br />

allowance. For more information<br />

Registration: 11 am the day before<br />

Call 303-833-2739 to register.<br />

Suggested donation of $4. Fee of<br />

$12 for 59 and younger.<br />

WEDNESDAY LUNCHES<br />

Join us at the Active Adult/Senior<br />

Center every Wednesday from<br />

noon - 1 pm for a delicious catered<br />

lunch from various restaurants. The<br />

menu is posted at www.cvprd.com<br />

and at the Active Adult/Senior<br />

Center. Enjoy visiting <strong>with</strong> other<br />

participants and stay to play games<br />

afterwards. Registration is required<br />

by 11 am the day before the lunch.<br />

Fee: $7 SCM, $8 D, $10 ND<br />
