Web Services (AWS) and Equinix in
London. This third European AWS region
adds to the existing VPSA services in
Frankfurt, Germany and Dublin, Ireland.
It's their 11th AWS region worldwide and
is enabled through a value-added relationship
with Equinix.
DataCore is also extending the scope of
its services, announcing that DataCore
Cloud Replication software solutions are
now available in the Microsoft Azure
Marketplace. Designed to support disaster
recovery efforts, customers with onpremises
deployments of SANsymphony
software-defined storage and Hyper-converged
Virtual SAN can now use the
Microsoft Azure cloud as an added replication
location, to help safeguard highly
available systems.
Interest and application of Artificial
Intelligence (AI) is rapidly growing across
many aspects of the IT landscape.
Provider of cloud-enabled security and
data protection solutions Barracuda
Networks has recently announced
Barracuda Sentinel, a comprehensive AI
solution for real-time spear phishing and
cyber fraud defence. It is delivered as a
cloud service and utilises artificial intelligence
to protect people, businesses and
brands from spear phishing, impersonation
attempts, and business email compromise
and cyber fraud.
Asaf Cidon, VP of content security services
at Barracuda Networks said, "Spear
phishing is rampant. It's no longer just
the large enterprises or C-suite that need
to be on high alert: everyone is a target.
We see novel combinations of highly
personalised tactics including spoofing
your domain, impersonating your CEO
and engaging in convincing conversations
with employees. In today's dynamic
threat environment, the best defence
includes a combination of people and
technology. Barracuda Sentinel leverages
artificial intelligence to give customers -
people - a comprehensive way to stop
spear phishing and cyber fraud attacks in
real time."
Scaling network monitoring infrastructure
is an essential aspect of network
provisioning. To help with this endeavour,
NetScout has launched a software-driven
addition to its nGenius Packet Flow
System (PFS) product family. The nGenius
PFS 5000 models deliver a new packet
broker architecture in the visibility market,
decoupling packet broker functions from
its underlying hardware and offering an
open compute platform option for network
packet brokers. The nGenius PFS
5000 series is available for high density
10 GbE and 40/100 GbE Packet Broker
deployments.
Independent Wi-Fi vendor Aerohive
Networks has released the HiveManager
NG Virtual Appliance. This unified network
management system means that customers
can manage thousands of devices
and experience the full power of
Aerohive's cloud networking, deployed on
their site. The cost of a typical deployment
starts at $3,300 for the HiveManager NG
Virtual Appliance and the underlying
hardware and software platform.
The virtual appliance provides the same
features for monitoring, security, and
access management as Aerohive's public
cloud solution. This unified approach to
public and private cloud networking
allows the solution to seamlessly scale in
size and capability, across deployment
models and accommodate evolving customer
and partner mobility requirements.
Chris DePuy, Technology Analyst at 650
Group said, "The new HiveManager
Virtual Appliance is unique… it provides
the same advanced feature set, no matter
what the deployment size and it is an
exciting offer for any organisation looking
for a simple and complete on-premises
WiFi management platform."
No matter how virtual and cloud based
services become, hardware remains an
inconvenient reality. With the IT technician
in mind, StarTech has announced
the release of its Hot-Swap Drive Bay,
allowing the efficient management of
2.5" SATA SSD/HDD drives in a desktop
computer or server. It combines the benefits
of a portable enclosure with a fixed
mobile backplane, meaning that users
can swap, replace or transport a drive
with the portable enclosure, or store a
drive in a fixed location. The drive bay
offers USB 3.1 (10Gbps) connectivity
speeds for fast performance and quick
data access. NC
