SAVITAR<br />
FIREFIGHTER BOOT<br />
Firefighting is one of the most dangerous and physical loaded<br />
working group around the world. Firemen face with various,<br />
complex, unexpected and rapidly changing situations in firefighting<br />
and rescueing operations.<br />
Savitar is a work safety shoe designed for firefighters and it<br />
provides different options for changing situations.<br />
The graduation project was condacted<br />
with footwear company YDS.
Firemen wear traditional insulated and heavy rubber boots to<br />
foot protection.<br />
These boots cause additonal load about 4.5 kg.<br />
Heavy and bulky boots may limit the firefighters’ walking<br />
and motions in the fire area.<br />
Every additional 1 kg, increases oxygen consumpiton level 7% and<br />
this causes getting tired rapidly and thermal stress.<br />
Otherwise, as stated in previous, firefighters be in very different<br />
environments and different duties but wear the same boot<br />
for all duties and conditions. Due to the type of the duty,<br />
in some conditions wearing chaussures limits their mobility.

Savitar, aims to bring a new perpective presenting a shoe with option of a half boot and also a chaussure. Savitar, can be weared<br />
confortable while fullfiling daily tasks at station thanks to its lightweight and breathable upper. By this way in case of an emergency,<br />
you do not need to attend to take off your shoes and wear the others only you wear your romper and by extending your boots make<br />
them long chaussures which protect you up to your knees at the field.
Savitar use hybrid textiles which formed by<br />
auxetically weaved textiles and obtained an<br />
flexible fabric. By this way a flexible structure<br />
is provided that suitable for everyone.<br />
An other property of the auxetic weawing<br />
is being shock emmissive. Thereby, you<br />
can protect the tibia with only used fabric<br />
without needing any additional material.<br />
AUXETIC WOVEN FABRIC
A helical carbon fiber spring is used in the<br />
fabric at the section which transforms the<br />
boot to the chaussure. Hereby, a configurable<br />
for everyones leg structure is obtained.<br />
Moreover this structure can compose the<br />
fabric while transforming from chaussure<br />
to the boot.<br />
SLINKY SPRING
A hibrid fabric is obtained from carbon,Kevlar<br />
and fireproof cotton are woven together<br />
with 3/2/1 pattern .<br />
