Lest We Forget Exhibition<br />
<br />
This exhibition presents a rich exploration of Emirati<br />
identity as conveyed through modes of adornment.<br />
Exploring ‘tangible,’ lasting forms of adornment,<br />
including garments, burga, jewelry, weapons and<br />
attributes, the exhibition also embraces invisible<br />
aspects of adornment: the innate knowledge and<br />
skills needed to create evanescent adornment<br />
through the application of henna, kohl and<br />
fragrance, as well as through grooming and hairstyles.<br />
Emirati adornment, in all its complexity and beauty, is<br />
revealed through personal examples with insights<br />
offered by Emirati people.<br />
The highly interactive art exhibition welcomes visitor<br />
contribution of objects, memories and reflections<br />
pertaining to Emirati adornment.<br />

Al Ain Cultural Art Programme<br />

Islamic Manuscripts & Coins Show<br />
<br />
The Islamic Manuscripts & Coins Show is being organised<br />
in cooperation with the Emirates Heritage Club and<br />
includes a number of unique Islamic manuscripts in<br />
interpretation, Qur'an sciences, Hadith texts, terminology,<br />
interpretation of hadiths, fundamentals of jurisprudence,<br />
the four schools of thought, history and explorations, as<br />
well as medicine, astronomy, mathematics, chemistry,<br />
stone sciences and more.<br />
There are 21 manuscripts on display, aged between 200-<br />
400 years. Some of them were owned by scholars, who<br />
left insightful comments in the margins. Some were hand<br />
written by the authors themselves.<br />
The Islamic coins include 40 types of gold and silver, aged<br />
between 1000-1300 years; representing the Abbasside<br />
era.<br />
Moreover, the show includes 15 old photos depicting<br />
Sheikh Zayed - may God rest his soul - when he would<br />
meet with locals and overview in person, various projects,<br />
while still finding time to receive heads of states.<br />
