The Loup Loup Ski Education Foundation (LLSEF) is a non profit
501(c)3.
We operate The Loup Loup Ski Area under special use permit
on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.
The first season of lift operations on Little Buck Mountain was
the winter of 1958/1959
The day lodge was constructed in 1969
Elevation at the top of the lift: 5,262 feet
Elevation at the bottom: 4,022 feet
Vertical feet of fun: 1,240
Chair 1 is a Poma fixed grip quad, it is 5000 feet long
The Junior Poma platter pull is 900 feet long
And the Peanut Rope Tow is great for the littlest learners
Hours of operation: first chair ride is at 9:00 AM, half day tickets
at 12:00,
last chair ride is at 3:45PM
We operate on weekends, holidays and Wednesdays’ in January
& February
Mother Nature willing we’re sliding December through March
We have certified Professional Ski Instructors of America available
to help you hone your skills
Our Patrol is certified with the National Ski Patrol and is 100%
volunteer

Welcome and thank you for coming to “A Taste of
Two Valleys”.
We are excited that this event continues to grow
each year and we are able to offer fantastic food
and world class entertainment. We continue to
work toward paying off the debt incurred to build
the bathrooms and look forward to making additional
improvements at the Loup as funds become
available.
I would like to take this opportunity to share with
you some of the changes taking place at the Loup
this year. In a never ending effort to improve the
Loup experience and position ourselves for long
term sustainability, the board began a restructuring
of the way we do business. An important first
step in this process was to restructure the position
of our general manager. This included
changing the position to a less than full time position
and hiring a new GM. After a lengthy and
very thorough search, we hired Sandy Liman.
Sandy comes to us with a very colorful history in
the ski industry including a stint on the US Ski
Team and extensive business experience with
several international firms in the ski industry. We
are very excited to have Sandy onboard and look
forward to a very successful future.
The Loup is a gem of a resource for our community.
It is gathering point for young and old. Many
of you, or perhaps your kids, learned to ski at the

Loup. We are committed to continue this tradition
of providing opportunities to learn and enjoy snow
sports. We are very pleased to once again offer
our “5 th Graders Ski Free” program this year. Any
enrolled fifth grader from Okanogan, Chelan, or
Douglas counties can get a free day ticket as
many times as they want for the season. In addition,
any school from these three counties that
can bring their entire fifth grade class up on a prescheduled
Wednesday or Friday the students will
get a free ticket, 1 hour group lesson, and free
rental equipment for the day! This program was
funded last year through the generous support
provided during the “Fund a Dream” portion of the
live auction.
We want to invite everybody up to the mountain
this winter to enjoy a fantastic winter experience!

Ski Patrol Report
The Loup Loup Volunteer Ski Patrol has been busy
preparing ourselves, and the hill, for another fun
year! Are you ready? Be sure you are at the Patrol's
Annual Ski Swap and Equipment Sale. This annual
"kick off the season" event will be Saturday, October
27 from 9:00 to 1:00 here at the Agriplex. Those
wanting to sell gear can check in their
goods on either Wed. Oct. 24 at Liberty Bell High
School from 3:30 to 7:00 or on Fri., Oct. 26 at the
Agriplex from 4:00 to 7:00. As always, proceeds
benefit the volunteer's training, rescue gear and first
aid supplies.
We're also busy honing our skills. We have our
Outdoor Emergency Care Refresher scheduled for
November 10 & 11. A weekend of practice scenarios
and studying to recertify our skills in emergency
medical care, lift evacuation and overall mountain
safety procedures. This year we'll be joined by another
dozen patrollers from around the NW region.
We are also conducting a Outdoor Emergency Care
course through the National Ski Patrol. We will be
training 5 more patrollers, volunteers who will not
only have the skills to help on the hill, but to assist
in the community as well, should the need arise.
Aside from getting ourselves in shape, we've been
busy with some routine maintenance projects to improve
the efficiency of our aid room. All in all, we're
ready! Enjoy the evening. Think snow!

Snow Sports School Report
Welcome to the 2012 Taste of Two Valleys Auction.
The Loup Loup Snow Sport School is looking
forward to the upcoming season. Again we
will be offering the "5th Graders Ski Free" program
where 5th graders in Okanogan, Douglas
and Chelan Counties get a free ticket ($20 for a
season's pass) at the Loup. Many School Districts
across the county took advantage of the
program last year, however, not all. If you are
involved with a fifth grader, please encourage
your school to get involved. Potentially, over 800
children from our surrounding area can experience
the fun and excitement of a "Snow Sport
Day" at the Loup, at no cost to themselves or the
School District.
Are you a good skier or snowboarder and interested
in helping others enjoy the sport? Please
contact us at the Loup; we will be training a new
class of instructors in December and would love
to have you or someone you know join us.

Back in the “Old Days” we rode to the top of
Little Buck wrapped around a metal pole, trying
to relax while spinning on a wobbly disc.
Now, we ride to the top in cushy comfort
while boasting to our friends about how well
we rode that last run (you should have come
down Hughes with me, it was awesome!).
Many helpers and donors earned the distinction
of joining the “Chair Club” by donating
$1000 of either hard cash, or the equivalent
in “blood sweat and tears”. The LLSEF
acknowledged those chair club members by
putting their names on a plaque, and by also
putting their names on signs that have been
on “their” chair. Over the years the more observant
have noticed that those chair signs
have fallen in disrepair (or have disappeared!)
and have been replaced at LLSEF
expense. Many of the pads on those same
chairs have needed to be recovered due to
normal wear and tear.
Early this year the LLSEF mailed out letters
to those chair club members we could find to
ask their thoughts on long term care for the
chairs and signs. Most of the responses were
positive, offering to pay for maintenance
costs, or volunteering to donate a fixed annual
pledge to keep their chair in good repair
(many included checks with their response J
Thank you!!). The LLSEF acknowledges the

need to maintain the pads (help is always accepted)
but that we couldn’t continue to justify
the costs to replace signs at LLSEF expense,
so we are very pleased that most are willing
to help. If you have a chair and haven’t received
a letter, or haven’t shared your
thoughts with us, please do so, we would like
to hear from you.
On that note, there are chairs “a-swinging”
that haven’t been “adopted”. If you would like
to join the Chair Club, with your $1000 minimum
donation we will put an initial sign on
your chair and acknowledge your generous
donation on the Chair Club plaque. If you
would also like to help with the continued
maintenance of that chair, feel free to indicate
that, and to what level on an annual basis,
you are pledging. You can find our address
and contact information at the back of this
program and include a note that this is for the
“Chair Club”.

Through your generosity last year we were
able to offer a 5th grade program that gave
every 5th grader in the county the opportunity
for a day of alpine fun on a class trip.
The program was a great success and
with the help of your generous donations
we plan to offer this program again for the
2012/2013 season. Help us introduce a
5th grader to the joy of alpine sports!

General Auction Protocol
Pick up your bid number at Check-in. This number is
your only means of identification. Please use it for both
silent and live auction bids throughout the evening.
A signature or verbal bid during the Auction constitutes
a legal contract to buy. All sales are final and there will
be no exchanges or refunds. In all cases of dispute,
the decision of the Auction committee is final.
The Auction Committee has made good-faith efforts to
fairly describe the property and services on auction; all
items are sold “as-is”. The Auction committee neither
warrants the condition nor guarantees the accuracy of
any description of any item for sale. No statement contained
in this catalog or made verbally during the auction
shall be deemed to be representation of liability.

Please pay attention to all conditions, restrictions, and
expiration dates on items and services. Except where
noted by the donor, services, tickets, certificate items,
etc. must be used within one year of the Auction and
must be scheduled at a time that is mutually agreeable
to all parties.
Restaurant certificates do not include liquor, tax or gratuities,
unless otherwise indicated.
Payment must be made in full the evening of the auction.
You are encouraged to pay for your purchases
only once, at the end of the auction.
Successful bidders may make payment at the Cashiers’
Table by VISA, MasterCard, check or real money.

Silent Auction Protocol
The Silent Auction tables will be open at 5 pm. The
Auctioneer will close the tables by announcement.
The amount listed on the top line of each Silent Auction
Bid Sheet is the minimum bid for that item. Bid raises
must be in the minimum amount specified or higher on
the bid sheet, in whole dollar amounts only. If the minimum
bid raise is not observed, the bid shall be void.
The last bid number on the bid sheet with highest bid
will be the successful bidder when that silent auction
table closes. If you are interested in a Silent Auction
item, check the bid sheet several times and watch/
listen for closing times.

Bid Sheet, insures the bidder ownership of the item.
Raffle Auction Protocol
To bid on Raffle Items, you can purchase $1.00 tickets
from the cashiers, write your bidder number on the
back, and put as many as you want in the can that
matches the item. The more tickets you put in the better
your chances of getting drawn as the winner.
The winner’s ticket will be taped to the top of the
raffle container and there will also be a list showing
the winning bidder’s number for each raffle item
taped to the table at the end of the raffle auction.
Live Auction Protocol
You may preview Live Auction items from the time the
doors open until the start of the Live Auction. Please

Each person will use the Bid Number received upon
