THE STORY
Te kōrero
Our story begins with our passion
for bees and beekeeping.
In New Zealand, honeybees can no longer survive
without human intervention. We don’t take this
responsibility lightly.
Formed in 2013, Mana Kai is an emerging boutique
beekeeping business. Our home and workplace
is in the small rural community of Awanui, 5kms
north of Kaitaia, in the Far North of New Zealand.
We have a beekeeping, honey extraction and
sales operation, with a supporting administration
office. Our Māori beekeeping business is vertically
integrated, from the flower to the honey jar.
We are keen to grow our business, extend our
knowledge and experience, and share our journey
along the way – continuously working with innovative
partners to progress and develop our business further.
The success of our business relies on the strength
of our relationship with our honeybees and all
partners across our business – whānau, landowners,
employees and customers.
Before any product is exported we strive to maximise
the benefits for our Northland community. We are
passionate about honeybees, our people and this
wonderful resource.
OUR HONEY
Mana Kai Miere
We bring you a portfolio of honey, ranging from high
UMF Manuka to Native Flora and Multiflora blends,
all beautifully crafted by our honeybees.
Honey – a world-renowned wonder food.
Produced in New Zealand by bees that pollinate
the Manuka bush, Manuka Honey is one of the
most unique and beneficial honeys in the world.
The potent trilogy of hydrogen peroxide,
methylglyoxal (MGO) and dihydroxyacetone (DHA)
found in Manuka Honey results in antibacterial
qualities, which have been known to be beneficial
for burns, wounds, ulcers, sore throats and more.
UMF
We are a licensed
member of the
internationallyrecognised
UMF
Honey Association,
which sets standards
to ensure genuine
Manuka Honey.
Manuka Honey
contains a high
