MESSAGE FROM THE
Chief Executive Officer
The Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association
celebrated its 60th year of success in 2016. With an ever
increasing membership, the TTMA continues to be the lobbying voice for
the Manufacturing Sector. The main objective of the Association is to create
an enabling environment for our members to facilitate trade, expansion and
sustainability.
The Manufacturing sector of Trinidad and Tobago is creating great strides
in rivaling the energy sector as a proven model for diversification of the
economy. The TTMA secretariat continues to liaise with the manufacturing
community, as well as key stakeholders, with the aim of working together to
ensure relevant frameworks are in place to enhance business prosperity. The
Association is cognizant of the integral role strategic partnerships with key
government agencies and regulators play in this transformation process.
The TTMA continues to create avenues for trade and investment for our
local manufacturers. Trinidad and Tobago has trade agreements with
numerous Latin American countries, namely Columbia, Costa Rica, Cuba,
Dominican Republic, Panama and Venezuela. Trade agreements with El
Salvador and Guatemala may be ratified shortly, and the possibility exists
for an agreement with Chile.
