ABOUT US
Thaxters of Holt Ltd ceased trading in August 2014 at which time the new company Thaxters
Timber and Forestry Ltd was set up to continue the business and to take it forward for the next
generation. Firmly establishing the business on Hunworth Road and as a manufacturer of
garden buildings and furniture.
Over the years many members of the Thaxter family have worked for the business since its
foundation in 1968 with Sharon Sands (nee Thaxter) being a Director of the current business.
The business is focused on building quality products all of which are handmade and finished
at our yard. The materials we use are responsibly sourced and always checked for quality
ensuring that our buildings are manufactured from sturdy timber and built to last.

GARDEN
SHEDS
We pride ourselves on building sheds to any
specification and many of our projects are
bespoke to our customer’s requirements. The
Garden Shed Range starts at a minimum size
of 4 ft (1.22m) by 4 ft (1.22m) and there is no
maximum width or length.
All our buildings are framed with structural
quality softwood 63mm x 38mm timber which
is graded in accordance with European standard
EN 14081:2005 (British Building Regulation
Quality). Our sheds can be clad with a number
of different finishes; our standard cladding has a
minimum thickness of 14mm.
The roofs are constructed from OSB 3 board.
This is supported by our standard framework
and can be covered in good quality roofing felt in
various colours, felt shingles or cedar shingles.
The standard floor is 18mm first quality exterior
grade plywood for a hardwearing and attractive
finish.
There are a number of options that can be added
to your shed including:
Fixed windows • Opening windows
Double doors • Interior lining
Insulation • Work bench
The above specification is not exhaustive and if
you have any specific requirements please call
us or visit our yard to discuss your needs.
NB. If Thaxters are erecting the shed it is the customer’s responsibility
to ensure that a level base is provided. If a second visit is needed due to
an inadequate base further erection charges will apply.

GARDEN
STUDIOS
Introducing our new range of garden studios.
Our studios are made to your measurements
and are available in a variety of different styles.
The standard specification includes:
Sealed unit double glazing
Minimum 18mm plywood floor
Minimum 14mm cladding
Tongue and groove ceilings
Walls lined with plywood or tongue & groove
The following additional items:
Leaded glass windows and doors
Rebated overlap cladding with stress grooves
to prevent cupping or curling
Oak effect flooring

CART SHED
CAR PORT
Supplied as a flat pack kit (Erection is an
option to which additional charges apply). The
kit is for the timber structure only and does not
include any roof felt, battens or tiles/coverings.
The car port is a great new modular product
that can be added to as many times as you
need. This great traditional product will fit into
any surroundings and is generous in size; each
bay being 3 metres wide and 4.8 metres deep
(external measurements). The car port comes as
a flat packed product and is suitable for erection
by an experienced DIYer or by a builder, it can
be built on a gravel base provided it is level but
is better suited to a concrete base.
The car port is built to a very high standard from
quality materials to the following specification:
Cladding is ex. 32x175mm pressure treated
softwood timber
Framework is 47x100mm pressure treated
softwood timber
Roof Structure is from fully engineered prefabricated
trusses designed to take a variety of
coverings
Decorative framework to the front is 100×200
pressure treated softwood timber (the
decorative framework can be provided in solid
100×200 oak at extra cost)
The kit comes with full instructions and fixings
kit.

LOG STORE
Our log stores are built to withstand heavy
loadings so that you can use the full height of
the unit without worrying about damaging the
store. The base is finished with slatted pressure
treated timber to allow airflow up through
the log stack with the sides and back being
minimum 14 mm thick cladding. (The sides
and back can also be finished with timber slats
if additional ventilation is required).
The standard size store is 1900mm high, 640mm
deep and 1340mm wide although we are happy
to provide a quote for any bespoke size log store.
FIREWOOD
We supply firewood and kindling in the North
Norfolk area all year round. A single load is
one cubic metre of wood, all of our firewood
is hand sorted to ensure that the whole load
consists of good quality wood.
We supply hardwood and softwood logs by the
load as well as kindling in nets, hardwood log
nets, compressed hot logs and bags of softwood
offcuts.
For the firewood by the load we use a small
tipper truck as our delivery vehicle that will
fit onto most driveways. We cannot stack
the firewood on delivery due to insurance
restrictions.

Box Office is a range of completely bespoke
garden offices and studios. We work with our
clients requirements and present a range of
options that will suit the style, look and location
of their building.
We analyse our client’s requirements and
provide inspiration on the look and style,
choosing materials that will fit within the budget
to achieve their perfect building.
The construction process is constantly monitored
and the client is able to make changes at various
stages of the build if they chose to, the service
is entirely bespoke to each project and every
customer is allocated a specific Director of
Thaxters to oversee their project.
This delivers a product that is tailored to the exact
needs of the client and delivers a remarkable
service without increasing the cost.

Our popular garden range is entirely adaptable
and all of our products are built to order. If you
have any specific design requirements or sizes

INDOOR
FURNITURE
Our indoor range of tables and table tops are all
made to order. Past projects have included solid
oak dining table tops to fit client supplied legs,
solid oak slab coffee tables on steel hairpin legs
and side/console tables on steel hairpin legs.
We can manufacture from a range of engineered
oak, solid beech or ash or from reclaimed
timbers to the customer’s specific requirements.
Each piece is han d crafted and completed in
range of finishes from clear preservative to a
penetrating oil or varnish.
Our indoor furniture has been supplied to
customers across the country and delivery can
be arranged at additional cost.
