In a space
too easily reckoned,
by measurements
easily forgotten,
a willow jumps
from wisp to massive drape
along the bank of the meadow brook
where dinosaurs once strode to fame
and little Nettie now swings with Jane.
They shall take their time at foolery and games
while eating,
laughing
and hiding from the rain,
for we have sung them full of sound
of what could be
and will,
to make feet light
as they scamper up the hill.
