Fall is the perfect time of the year to act and take
care of things that will make a difference not only for you
but your home as well. This is something that you can do
regardless of what type of home you own or live in.
Don’t forget to do the usual safe things as change
the battery to the smoke detectors and carbon
monoxides. If you happen to have one check your fire
extinguishers, if you don’t have one perhaps it’s
something you should consider.
Safety first when doing any type of work, and should
you need a professional’s help give me a call.
Thank you and enjoy!
[ ] Clean out the gutters and downspouts
The goal is to get the water away from your property as water is a
property’s worst nightmare. So, pull out the ladder, set up and clean out
the gutters. Make sure they are not clogged and make sure it is still in
place.
[ ] CHECK YOUR ROOF
Just review it and make sure you are not missing shingles, make sure they
are not cracked or broken. This will prevent water from getting thru and
into your home. Should water leak into your home this will cause more
problems.
[ ] INSPECT YOUR FOUNDATION
When looking at the foundation look to make sure you have no holes,
cracks. If it does calls us we want to make sure you can just patch it up and
it’s not a reoccurring issue.
[ ] CHIMNEY/FIREPLACE/furnace
Have these serviced and do a physical to assure the safety of your family
and home. Make sure you look at the chimney outside to make sure there
is no need for it to be pointed.
[ ] INSPECT SIDING
Just take a look at your siding, are they detached, can they use a cleaning?
We can power wash and it will give it a new look all over again and protect
your siding so it last for many years to come.

[ ] REINFORCE WINDOWS AND DOORS
Caulk around windows, doors and any other opening you find. By doing
this you are preventing cold air from getting in. Since you are caulking
don’t forget to caulk around vents (you should have a vent for the dryer,
bathroom exhaust fans, pipes that run out, and even under and around
cabinets).
[ ] WEATHER STRIPPING
Weather stripping wear out and crack after years. Check the weather
stripping you should see them around your window, doors and don’t forget
the garage door.
[ ] INSPECT EXTERIOR PAINT OF YOUR HOME
You may not have to paint the entire house, but your home might need a
touchup. Or the paint is flaking off trust me you would want to take care of
it before winter. By allowing flaking paint to stand you will allow water to
get into the wood and possibly causing the wood to rot faster.
[ ] INSPECT YOUR DECK AND PORCH
Just make sure there is no visible screws, it’s clean and ready for the winter.
[ ] SEAL DRIVEWAY
[ ] COVER AIR CONDITIONER

[ ] REVERSE CEILING FANS
[ ] change batteries on smoke detectors/carbon
monoxides
[ ] shut the outside faucets off and drain any water
