Plastics and packaging fair
negotiated $150m orders
Foreign and local exhibitors negotiated
machinery and accessories orders worth
$150 million at the 14th Plasti & Pack fair,
an international trade fair for the plastics and
packaging industry, held at Karachi Expo
Centre on recently. Many foreign exhibitors
displayed their state-of-theart machinery
a n d a c c e s s o r i e s , i n s p i r i n g l o c a l
manufacturers. Exhibitors from various
countries have expressed their satisfaction
over the mega-event saying that they
havereceived agoodresponse from trade
inquirers and visitors to the trade show.
Pakistan has progressed in printing and
packaging technologies to the extent that no
industry now needs to bring its printed
material from aboard. The progress is more
conspicuous in food and foodstuff
packaging, which progressedto the
levelthatthey are competing in the export
market, said a press release.

import figures for the year are;

billion mark.
