ANIMAL SHELTER 

Here is an update on the status of the shelter and 

the county-wide dog and cat rescue efforts. The pets 

at the physical shelter are being looked after by a group 

of very dedicated staff members. We have had staff onsite day and 

night. The shelter and clinic are closed until further notice.The population 

at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds Pop up Shelter continues to 

grow and therefore we will soon begin a CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS to work 

in four hour shifts. Those interested should email macheal.ita@mctx.org 

to sign up to work at the Fairgrounds in Conroe, Texas. If you cannot 

volunteer but would like to help the following items are greatly needed: 

• Large and extra-large wire crates 

(we will also take medium crates 

but larger sizes are most needed)

• Litter Boxes (cardboard, plastic or metal)
