Welcome to the latest most advanced world of True Variable Cadence Gait with the 

electronically controlled TGK-5PS1ØSLK. This knee unit utilizes the very advanced 

“Blank Slate Technology.” This means that the computer is preprogrammed with 

what gait is, but the parameters of that gait will self-program as the knee walks, constantly 

learning and changing to your individual patient’s gait pattern. This means that you are 

required to do very little adjustment and no programming. 

The technology works by measuring a magnet traveling in space. The magnet is in the knee 

cap that covers the knee bolt hole. Since even a minute motion of the magnet is instantly 

recognized, gait control is instantaneous and accuracy is guaranteed. The computer takes 

the slowest gait speed and the fastest gait speed, it divides the span of gait into 11 categories. 

Each time the amputee walks in one of the categories, the gait speed is recorded. 

Once the matrix is full (it takes about 2 weeks to fill completely), each time the amputee 

walks in one of the categories, the knee sets itself to the average of the last 100 steps. This 

constantly adjusting scale is the benefit of blank slate technology. The entire computer is 

solely dedicated to the amputee’s needs. State-of-the-art micro-processor combined with 

a 5-Bar Stance Flexion Design – you have the best of both worlds: Instantaneous True 

Variable Cadence and the most efficient Anatomical Gait.

Welcome to the latest most advanced world of True Variable Cadence Gait with the 

electronically controlled TGK-5PS1ØSLK. This knee unit utilizes the very advanced 

“Blank Slate Technology.” This means that the computer is preprogrammed with 

what gait is, but the parameters of that gait will self-program as the knee walks, constantly 

learning and changing to your individual patient’s gait pattern. This means that you are 

required to do very little adjustment and no programming. 

The technology works by measuring a magnet traveling in space. The magnet is in the knee 

cap that covers the knee bolt hole. Since even a minute motion of the magnet is instantly 

recognized, gait control is instantaneous and accuracy is guaranteed. The computer takes 

the slowest gait speed and the fastest gait speed, it divides the span of gait into 11 categories. 

Each time the amputee walks in one of the categories, the gait speed is recorded. 

Once the matrix is full (it takes about 2 weeks to fill completely), each time the amputee 

walks in one of the categories, the knee sets itself to the average of the last 100 steps. This 

constantly adjusting scale is the benefit of blank slate technology. The entire computer is 

solely dedicated to the amputee’s needs. State-of-the-art micro-processor combined with 

a 5-Bar Stance Flexion Design – you have the best of both worlds: Instantaneous True 

Variable Cadence and the most efficient Anatomical Gait.

ePAD: The Electronic Precision Alignment Device 

What does it do? 

For any force applied to the ground there is an equal and opposite force. This force is termed the Ground 

Reaction Force (GRF). In the case of the foot on the ground, it is the summation of all the forces applied by 

the foot to the ground. The GRF is a vector, it has a point of origin and a direction. 

The ePAD Sensor Pad shows precisely where the “point of origin” of the GRF vector is located in Sagittal 

and Coronal Planes. In neutral Stance, when placed at the “point of origin” the vertical line produced 

by the self leveling laser goes through the exact location of the center of the acetabulum. It would be 

impossible to locate with precision without the ePAD. Efficient prosthetic alignment requires the proper 

positioning of the knee and ankle in relation to the center of the acetabulum. 

The Weight Pad ensures even weight bearing on both legs, which is essential for an accurate assesment 

of the GRF Vector.
