Scarf Pin Collection
These beautiful scarf pins are handmade with 9-10 gauge aluminum
wire. All edges have been sanded for safety and so that
it will not damage your silk.
Each lightweight piece can be worn on knitted fabrics, silk or in
your hair. Measuring at approximately 3” - 4" long including the
stick. You can gently bend the outer edges of the main piece to
create a looser or tighter fit with the pin.

About the Artist……
Tonya Butcher is an award winning artist and silk painter, exhibiting her work at
fine art festivals throughout the United States. Tonya is the owner and founder of
Silks by Tonya, her studio is located in Goldvein VA.
Tonya’s journey began in 2008 when she
started to explore her creative side. In a
short time thereafter, she left an accounting
career to pursue her love of
art. Tonya prides herself on using only
the finest quality materials to create her
luxurious hand painted silk scarves.
In her travels, she has had the privilege
of helping many women achieve greater
confidence.
Her customers rave about the quality of
the finished product.

The Creative Process…..
Tonya’s hand painted silk scarves begin with the finest quality 100% silk. The silk
is stretched. She creates the design using a variety of resists. Tonya then paints
the silk using her specially formulated color mixtures of silk dye. Most of her
scarves are painted in several layers of resist and dye. Once the painting is complete
and allowed to dry over night, it gets steamed for 3 hours to ensure the dye
is permanent and at peak brilliance. Some of the pieces require seamstress work
at this stage. She finishes the piece off with a good hand washing and ironing.
And its ready to enjoy for years to come.
Tonya also creates lovely hand hammered aluminum scarf pins. She uses 9-gauge
aluminum wire, an anvil and hammer. Tonya shapes each piece by hand, hammering
it along the shaping process for stability, function and of course for beauty.
Each scarf pin is light weight and dresses up any scarf while doing a wonderful
job holding it in place.
