My name is Shakib Hamid. The last few weeks haven’t been the<br />
best to say the least. The pandemic is spreading throughout<br />
Bangladesh and we've been shut off from the rest of the world.

The situation has gotten worse. I'm calling out the government to help.<br />

I’m getting more and more frail and weak. The government needs to<br />
help us, all of us. Please help us.
January 15 th 2464<br />
In the mean time let me tell you a story about Australia, the opposite of<br />
us in Bangladesh, they are underpopulated and they are perfectly<br />
healthy. The story starts in 2017, when the war ended. The whole world<br />
was involved in the war, except for Australia, the most perfect country<br />
in the world. The war wiped out most of the population of the USA and<br />
Europe, but somehow the world was so naive that they didn’t use the<br />
space left behind wisely and they stayed where they were and<br />
continued to make the world overpopulated. And look at where we<br />
are now.
January 15 th 2464<br />
Let me tell you about Greenland, the most<br />
underpopulated country in the world. My story<br />
begins in 2111, after the last major pandemic,<br />
the bebalic plague, when 200 million people<br />
were wiped out from all over the world,<br />
except for Greenland. I honestly hate the<br />
world after what has happened in the last<br />
three thousand years. Why did they have to<br />
be so naïve and so ignorant to just leave the<br />
world in such a vulnerable place that they are<br />
in now.
January 26 th 2464<br />
So today in the news today, the main headline was “Australia Day<br />
celebrated in typical fashion” which further in the paper was with a<br />
beer and a swim at the beach, which in Bangladesh is impossible, one<br />
because there are no beaches and two, because we aren’t allowed<br />
to leave our hospital room. Cant the young and healthy people<br />
actually do something to help the world like trying to cure the plague<br />
instead of getting drunk at the beach and being so naïve that they are<br />
oblivious to other countries situations of vulnerability. I hate Australia.
January 26 th 2464<br />
Well, one of the main stories in todays paper was that Greenland won<br />
the prize for the healthiest country. There isn’t much competition when<br />
the rest of the world are going through the worst epidemic there has<br />
ever been. Even worse, the people of the countries that can actually<br />
be accessed aren’t focussed on finding a cure for us people, they are<br />
still actually giving an award for the healthiest country in the world.<br />
Absolutely disgusting. I hate the world.
May 13 th 2464<br />
Mothers day. What even is the point anymore? We<br />
can’t even leave our room and no one can come<br />
in except for the doctor. I know I sound a bit angry<br />
and I am, because the people of Bangladesh and<br />
surrounding countries are fuming. We are fuming<br />
because we are treated like animals, we are just<br />
left in a room, with enough food for a day for the<br />
week, not enough water and we get the worst<br />
beds ever known to mankind. I hate everything.
May 13 th 2464<br />
For me its just a usual day, I have only<br />
seen one person for the past 3 years, and<br />
that’s the nurse. I have no family, no<br />
friends to talk to, I just sit in my hospital<br />
room, contemplating how this all could<br />
have been avoided and every day I<br />
come to the conclusion that it was the<br />
fault of the naïve, ignorant younger<br />
generation. To be honest, I just want to<br />
die instead of being around for any<br />
longer. I hate people.
December 7 th 2464<br />
I feel like this I going to be my last entry before I die and can I just say<br />
one thing, the younger generation is the thing I hate the most. They are<br />
just so impulsive and foolish that its not even funny. They are what got<br />
the world into this position and they need to get us out of it and<br />
quickly. I hate young people. Goodbye.
December 7 th 2464<br />
This is my last diary entry before the end of the world and I want to<br />
thank the few people that actually tried to save us and find a cure.<br />
They are the true heroes of the world. And to everyone else, I hope you<br />
live a good life knowing that you killed half the world. I hate you.<br />
