Tell Us Your Story...
Dear Andrew...
From your new partners in the Freestate
I appreciate the opportunity to sow in such good soil. As a farmer, I
know that the same seed sown in poor soil, yields poor returns. I never
sow without expecting a return. I now look to God as my only source to
provide the next seed and as the One who multiplies the seed I’ve sown for
an abundant harvest!
I was a very faithful tither in my younger days, then stuff happened and
I lost faith in tithing. I felt I could put the money to better use where it
mattered... school fees, fuel, bills, food, wages, etc, etc... I grew accustomed
to NOT giving my tithe at all. It seemed to be okay with God. I still had
a good relationship with Him, still loved Jesus as my best friend and
experienced His presence whenever I engaged in worship/prayer. I came to
the conclusion that money wasn’t such a big issue concerning spiritual
matters. I didn’t give much, and I expected even less, in fact I didn’t expect
anything as a result of my giving. I had been content with the scraps and
sorry state of my affairs, feeling that this was part of being on earth, and
at the same time knowing I had a better place, being a kingdom citizen...
But the love of Jesus convinced me that I needed to look toward His harvest
field here on earth where I’m able to plant in lucrative soil and gain an
eternal harvest. I had a tough time dealing with the guilt of not sowing/
tithing for such a long time - feeling like I was in debt with heaven and
in arrears by thousands of rands! How was I going to pay that off? And
only when my debt was paid off could I expect the Lord’s favour.... These
were tough lies to counter.
Then in a flash, the Holy Spirit showed me a seed of maize as well as a
fully grown maize plant with its fruit and He spoke this to my heart:”The
seed produces when it is sown...” The seed doesn’t remember that you
haven’t sown in the previous season, but it will grow when you plant it.
You may have a lot of seed, but you will have no harvest (multiplication/
miracles) until that seed is planted. And once planted, the miracle
happens! 30, 60 and 100 fold... All to be sown again in order to expand
the Kingdom of God, kick out darkness and reign in the area where you
have been assigned.
I am excited! Angels work these fields and they never go on labour strikes!
I am excited! People like Andrew have toiled and laboured all their life to
