For A Great Warrior Experience: Know the Rules<br />

The student handbook is a great resource for finding out the rules and procedures of the school. To help you<br />
out, here is a “cheat sheet” of the important topics you and your students should be aware of to ensure you<br />
have a great Warrior experience!<br />
Attendance Policy<br />
● Absence - Parent must call the attendance office<br />
within the 24-hour period of the absence to excuse<br />
the absence or the absence will be considered unauthorized.<br />

Tardy Policy<br />
● Tardy To Class - Students must pass the threshold<br />
of the door/classroom prior to the tardy bell to NOT<br />
be considered tardy to class.<br />
● Tardy To Class - Consequences<br />
1st and 2nd Tardy: Warning<br />
3rd and 4th Tardy: Teacher-issued detention<br />
and phone call home.<br />
5th Tardy and Beyond: Referral to Deans’<br />
Office<br />
Cell Phone/Electronic Devices<br />
● Cell phones MUST be off and out of sight upon entering<br />
the classroom. Students can text message in<br />
the hallways, during passing periods and can make/<br />
receive phone calls in the cafeteria/rotunda area. If<br />
a student is on a phone without permission, he/she<br />
may receive a TAC (two-hour detention).<br />
● Chromebook usage must be appropriate and academic.<br />
Students are not permitted to be on You-<br />
Tube, listening or watching music and/or videos, or<br />
viewing inappropriate sites while in school. school.<br />
Students are not to use the G-Chat function unless<br />
told to by the teacher.<br />
Dress Code<br />
● Students are asked to dress appropriately for the<br />
school environment. If a student is dressed inappropriately,<br />
they may be asked to change their clothing.<br />
Lost and Found<br />
● If a student has lost an item, it should be reported<br />
as lost/stolen to Officer Beauvais, in the Deans’ Office.<br />
Students can also check for items in the Lost and<br />
Found before or after school.<br />
Dean Consequences<br />
● Detention- 7:20-7:40 am in H111 and 3:20-3:40<br />
pm in C201<br />
● TAC - Tuesday and Thursday - 3:30-5:30 pm in<br />
A201<br />
● SAC - Saturday, 8:00-10:00 am, 10:00am-12:00<br />
pm, or 8:00am-12:00 pm in A201<br />
● REA - Any assigned day - periods 1-9 in C201A<br />
(Behavior Redirect)<br />
● OSS - Out of School Suspension - TBD in accordance<br />
with the Student Handbook.<br />
Parking<br />
Students may purchase a parking pass at the bookstore<br />
for $115 and will be assigned a parking space<br />
for the school year. If there is ever a parking issue,<br />
students should stop by the Deans’ Office to see Mr.<br />
Dvorak.<br />

and 30 $1,000 scholarships<br />
for Oakton Community<br />
College to qualifying seniors.<br />
Funds come from memberships,<br />
fundraising and corporate donations<br />
to the Maine West Scholarship<br />
Fund. It is time to start raising<br />
money for the Class of 2018 and<br />
this cannot happen without YOU!<br />
