Our fee’s 

We recognise that seeing a solicitor often comes at a difficult and stressful time in our clients’ lives. We aim to provide high quality legal advice 

combined with value for money, and believe our rates are very competitive. 

Our commitment is: 

n A transparent fee structure and where appropriate a fee agreed in advance 

n Regular, fully itemised, billing

Our fees are calculated on an hourly basis, depending on the seniority of the lawyer working on the case, and the complexity of the matter. 

We provide details of the hourly rates applicable to your case before we commence any work on your behalf. All fees exclude VAT and disbursements 

such as medical or interpreter fees if appropriate. Complex cases may attract uplift on the hourly rate, but this will be discussed and agreed with you 

in advance. Where we represent you in court proceedings we will usually charge a rate within the appropriate Guideline Rates band as published by 

Her Majesty’s Court Service. We will advise you of this rate prior to issuing any proceedings on your behalf. 

Fixed Fees 

In residential conveyancing and in some other cases we can agree a fixed fee for the whole case or certain stages in a case. We will be able to give 

you an indication as to whether your case is suitable for a fixed fee after an initial consultation

Our Litigation department will also work towards resolving matters without the need for 

the issue of proceedings in Court. Litigating through the Courts or by arbitration can be 

both expensive and time consuming. We consider litigation as one of a number of options 

available for resolving disputes. 

We will recommend mediation or negotiation if there is sufficient common ground to 

achieve a settlement. The swiftest route to a satisfactory resolution of a case can often be 

found in strong reasoned argument. However, we will take firm action where our clients’ 

situation demands it. 

We evaluate each case at the outset and provide straightforward advice on the merits of 

the case and cost issues. Our aim is then to conduct matters speedily but thoroughly and, at 

key stages, to assess both the financial and commercial implications of the case. 







Personal Injury 

Personal Injury is a term used to describe any type of injury which has been caused to your body whether 

from an accident at work, a car accident or a pavement accident to name but a few examples. 

The term personal injury is also used to describe illnesses or injuries resulting from 

clinical negligence and industrial diseases including asbestos related diseases. If 

you have suffered a personal injury due to someone else’s negligence you may be 

able to make a personal injury claim. 

What is achieved by making a Personal Injury Claim? 

Victims of personal injury often have different reasons for wanting to make a 

personal injury claim. The main reason is often to claim a compensation payment 

for the pain and suffering which has been endured as a result of the personal 

injury. Often, compensation can also be recovered to reimburse any expenses 

connected to the personal injury such as lost earnings while the injured person is 

off sick or medical expenses. 

Another common reason injured people decide to make a personal injury claim is to 

obtain a sense of justice; whether it is for themselves or a lost loved one. A Judge 

finding in the injured person’s favour or an admission of liability from the person at 

fault for the personal injury can sometimes make all the difference to the injured 

person or their family who then feel able to move on with the rest of their lives.

Wills and probate 

Wills 

Getting a Will in place is one of those tasks that many people tend to ‘put’ 

off’ until a later date thereby underestimating its importance. It is also a 

misconception amongst many that you need to have a number of assets or 

be of a certain age before you need to even consider preparing a Will. The fact 

of the matter is there is never the perfect time to prepare a Will so whatever 

your circumstances you should not delay. Dying without a Will can cause many 

problems for those who are left to deal with your estate and may result in the 

distribution of your assets in a manner that contradicts your wishes had you left 

a Will. We offer a will writing service and have a specialist team who can provide 

a tailor made Will whatever your situation. We also advise on tax implications 

and the setting up of trusts. 

Probate 

The Probate process can be daunting and convoluted however we are here to 

make it as smooth and streamlined as possible for you. We appreciate that it 

can be a very emotional time where perhaps a loved one has died and their 

relatives have been left with the difficult task of dealing with the administring of 

their deceased relative’s estate. Whether a Will has been left by the deceased 

or not we can assist with the obtaining of Grant of Probate (where there is a 

Will) or Letters of Administration (where there is no Will). Our specialist team 

will complete the process from start to finish, from preparing the relevant tax 

and probate forms to the ultimate distribution of assets.

Farzana Rahman - Solicitor 

Farzana was admitted as a Solicitor of England and Wales in June 2016 and 

joined Links Legal Solicitors in July 2016. During her training contract at a

Thilaga was called to the Bar in 2006 and cross qualified to become a 

solicitor in 2009. Thilaga undertakes a range of work with particular interest
