Drinks at Lion Farm<br />

Potters Hill<br />

Majuba battle site<br />

Visit Potters Hill gravesite<br />

O’ Neil’s Cottage<br />

Mount Prospect <strong>and</strong> Genl Colley’s grave (1hr lunch stop) <strong>and</strong> briefing on the Battle of Majuba Wakkerstroom via<br />

Zaaihoek Dam<br />

Drinks at Oude Stasie at 14:30<br />

Total distance for the day: 250 - 300km<br />

Battle of Kambula site visit (drinks 30min)<br />

Othard Klingenberg’s farm for lunch (1hr) 80 – this was the post war Magistrate Court where some War<br />

criminals were tried.<br />

Pongola Valley where the Zulus clashed <strong>and</strong> 30 000 men died from sunrise to sunset.<br />

S<strong>and</strong> roads down Jantjieshoek Pass. We will split in 2 groups here. The braver ones will take a “technical<br />

route” back to Wakkerstroom.<br />

The alternative is a slightly longer but easier route back to Wakkerstroom.<br />

Re-grouping <strong>and</strong> drinks at Wakkerstroom Country Inn<br />

Evening braai, slide-show, Photies <strong>and</strong> prize giving, briefing Day 3.<br />

Total Distance: 360km <strong>and</strong> 380km<br />

Sunday 12 th November:<br />

09:00 Ride to the top of Ossewa Mountain 15km<br />

Visit Anglo-<strong>Boer</strong> War gravesite in Wakkerstroom<br />

11:00 Debriefing at Weavers Country Estate<br />

Cost R3000pp sharing for a great weekend in the saddle: Includes 3 nights <strong>and</strong> all meals from Thursday night through to<br />

Sunday Breakfast. We’ll have a backup vehicle <strong>and</strong> medic along.<br />
