A bad day’s fishing is better
than a good day at school

Fishing gives you some peace and quiet. It allows you to look at the
calming river while you wait to catch a fish.
You don’t need to prepare much for a great day of fishing. All you need
is a fishing rod, rod holder, equipped tackle box, a chair to sit in, bait, a
net and a fishing line. Make sure you leave your phone on silent to
ensure that you don’t get disturbed.
From my experience when it’s a full moon, a nice day and the river is
flowing fast you are likely to catch a lot of big fish.
Some of the best fishing spots in the Riverina include various spots
along the Murrumbidgee River from Tumut to Wagga Wagga and
Blowering Dam.
All undersize fish get thrown back in. If a carp or redfin is caught they get
left on the bank. All the “keepers” get put in an esky full of water until
later. Afterwards the good fish get scaled and gutted ready to be cooked
whole in the camp oven for a delicious, healthy dinner.
