Ally oops
Cop a flogging
From Greek Freeks
Ally oops cop a flogging from Greek Freeks.
Last Friday night in the under 16s Boys basketball the Greek
Freeks beat the ally oops by a whopping 35 points.
Dan Patterson the star player for ally oops started
the game strong. He shot 5 quick goals helping his
team take an early lead at quarter time. Unfortunately
in the second half Nick Watters took a hard fall whilst
contesting for the ball and fractured his rib. Alex Watters
came on to replace his brother Nick, but by that stage the
Greek Freeks had extended their lead by 15 points.
The Alley Oops fought as hard as they could to get back into
the game with huge support from their fans, but the Greek
Freeks were just too good.
The final score of 57-22 saw the Greek Freeks move to 2 nd on
the ladder and the Alley Oops have now dropped to 8 th .
This week the Alley Oops are motivated to finish the season
with a win against the Dragons to avoid ending up with the
wooden spoon.
A bad day’s fishing is better
than a good day at school
________________________________________
Fishing gives you some peace and quiet. It allows you to look at the
calming river while you wait to catch a fish.
You don’t need to prepare much for a great day of fishing. All you need
is a fishing rod, rod holder, equipped tackle box, a chair to sit in, bait, a
net and a fishing line. Make sure you leave your phone on silent to
ensure that you don’t get disturbed.
From my experience when it’s a full moon, a nice day and the river is
flowing fast you are likely to catch a lot of big fish.
Some of the best fishing spots in the Riverina include various spots
along the Murrumbidgee River from Tumut to Wagga Wagga and
Blowering Dam.
All undersize fish get thrown back in. If a carp or redfin is caught they get
left on the bank. All the “keepers” get put in an esky full of water until
later. Afterwards the good fish get scaled and gutted ready to be cooked
whole in the camp oven for a delicious, healthy dinner.
Bring on the school holidays so I can go fishing everyday!
RDA-Bringing People Together
RDA-is a place where people with disabilities can learn
how to ride a horse. It helps them to improve their
riding skills and confidence around horses.
There are a lot of different RDA centres in NSW. Our
local RDA is located on Plumpton Road in Wagga
Wagga. The Wagga Wagga Centre has 5 qualified
coaches, plus volunteers who help out and look after
the riders. At RDA you can do different activities such
as bending, flags, key hole, and barrels. You can have a
lot of fun meeting the coaches and volunteers. You
also get familiar with the horse after riding it for a
while. It takes time to progress and to get your
confidence up to level.
Riders have the opportunity to compete with other
RDA riders from around NSW and get to meet them
and make new friends. The mounted games are held at
the annual Royal Easter Show in Sydney. The best part
of RDA is allowing riders to have fun and enjoy
themselves.
If you don’t have a pet of your own now is the time to ask your
parents to get one.
Recent studies have shown that there are many health benefits to
owning a pet.
Pets make us feel happy. They help us to get exercise. They improve
physical and mental health. People who own a pet have fewer visits
to the doctor each year. Growing up with a dog or other pets can
help to reduce allergies. Children/teenagers who have pets are less
likely to miss days at schools because of sickness.
Having a pet teachers you to have responsibility because you need to
take care of it. Most teenagers with pets have a higher self-esteem
and a more positive outlook on life.
Pets keep you company if you are sick or lonely. They are lots of fun
and very loyal.
Cats and dogs are popular pets in Australia. From my experience
owning a cat gives me company and makes me happy. Cats are easy
to look after. My cat likes to play with toys, sometimes goes crazy by
running everywhere in the morning but at night he likes to sit on my
lap and sleep a lot.
