decided to let the inmates of the Makati City Jail
be the beneficiary. For two consecutive years in
2014 and 2015 they were the beneficiary of
DBPG's annual outreach. More than 200 inmates
benefitted from this program.
In 2016, we shifted our focus to street children of
Manila through Kanlungan sa ErMa an
organization that caters to the needs of street
children in the areas of Ermita and Malate.
Through the help of a sister from the Welcome
Ministry we found an outreach partner in Punong
Bayan and Araullo Credit Cooperative. For the past
three years (and counting) they have been our
outreach partner.
The Service Ministry is also an avenue for DBPG to
extend educational assistance to deserving
members or their kin.
Through the Educational Assistance Program, we
give monthly allowances and money to augment
the students’ miscellaneous expenses. This used to
be for elementary and high-school students only
now we're extending it for College and Vocational
Students as well.
In November of 2015, the Service Ministry
spearheaded the Joint Dental/Medical Mission of
SJBP and Caritas. Less than a
hundred parishioners benefited
from this exercise.

Brothers and sisters this is
how the DBPG Service Ministry
operates. Praise, Glory and
Honor to our Mighty God
The Don Bosco Prayer Group always looked into
the spirituality of its members. Other than the
talks, seminars, trainings and formations we have
from our weekly Prayer meetings going to places of
worship is also part of our regular activities.
Ministry Heads had our 1st pilgrimage. The group
had the privilege to visit the 7 Jubilee doors in
Metro Manila. Followed by the Bulacan pilgrimage
in 2014 where we visited the churches of
Immaculate Concepcion, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel,
the historic church of Barasoain, the Church of
the Annunciation and the Divine Mercy Shrine. We
also had gone with the churches in Tanay and
Antipolo in 2015. 2016 is a more significant year
for DBPG for we had 2 pilgrimages with the
historical churches of Batangas with some of the
proclaimed Doors of Mercy. And on the same year
before going to our Annual Retreat in Tagaytay /
the whole retreatants visited the churches in
Cavite. Going to these Pilgrim places is a great
opportunity for the DBPG to experience and
witness the wonderful creations and structures of
Christianity manifested in the artworks of these
beautiful and historical places of worship.
Other than our spirituality, the DBPG also had
programs to improve our bonding with each other
and with our families. Part of it is the Family Day,
Sports fest and the Team Building activity for
which we invited our biological families to join the
daylong activities. In this program we play, we
cheer, we sing, we dance and we eat with them
together, another reason to strengthen our ties
with one another.
And of course Anniversary celebrations is also part
of the program for Special Events. In this occasion
we gladly reminisce the good and inspiring things
and occasions happened in the many years of our
existence. We share the gladness / and the joy of
being a member of the DBPG, together with the
pioneers which we seldom see
and new members who
somehow we wishes to inspire
them let us welcome one
another and as one family, give
praises to the Lord for His
goodness that He made the
Don Bosco Prayer Group rise
and continue to grow as an
instrument of God’s love.
