Coworking Space
Bachelor Thesis
In Cologne Deutz is the old industrial site, where
important buildings of industry and traffic history
line up. The site is a new hotspot of Cologne,
which is located in the immediate vicinity
of the exhibition ground and the river Rhine.
Hall 71 (former hall for the production of pressure
rollers) is now to be used for flexible work.
Cologne, Germany
Interior Design
The office concept offers young start-up entrepreneurs,
freelancers as well as individual employees
the possibility to rent a work place for
days, weeks or months. This work structure is
used to connect work, business, society and the
need for flexibility in today‘s work environment.
The aim was to design a building concept that
provides both open and closed spaces to work.
For this purpose, the concept was planned on
three floors, which are connected by double
heights and visual reference areas. With the help
of a space in space concept, four cubes were integrated
per floor which contain different uses. In
the center of the building is a gallery, which has
three space elements that extend over two floors.

Highboard
Furniture Design
Everyone has an average of 10,000 personal things.
The question now arises: Where are all the things; of
course, in cabinets, shelves and chests of drawers?
Storage space in combination with lowtech
and alternative materials to wood,
set new accents in furniture construction.
The wall-independent highboard „pureline“ consists
of a total of three modules in lengths of 1.00m,
1.20m and 1.40m, which offer variable combinations.
Steel with white powder coating was used for
the body and the individual boxes. The boxes
function as drawers and form a contrast to
the steel body due to the fabric-covered fronts.

as a mockup after the
design and the production
of technical drawings.
The individual components
were made from
3mm MDF boards and then
joined to the individual
furniture components.
After painting, the fronts
of the drawers were covered
with fabrics. the
furniture was presented
Activity Center,
Ananas Rock
Nicosia, Cyprus
Interior Design
The project was located in Cyprus. The island is
seperated since 1974. the south belongs to the republic
of cyrus and the north part belongs to turkey.
nikosia is a divided city on cyprus and popular
tourist destination. There is a border which seperates
the Citys into two parts. Our Site was an old
market hall in the north part of nikosia located
directly on the border zone. The governement was
planning to develope a new concept in the market
hall. Our idea was to creat a Activity Centre
for young and old People, for locals and tourists.
It was a low budget project, and the
task was to integreat and recycle all
the existing furnitures in our Concept .

26 objects - 26 letters - 26 poems
The exhibition allocates 26 objects of the museum archives
and their collection history to the 26 letters of the alphabet
and the objects with 26 poems. The random positioning
of the objects in space follows the logic of the rod of the
typewriter, which connects the keys to the letters. That
this machine was until recently the most important instrument
of the poets, is undisputed. And so it was transferred
to the model of the exhibition space, exemplary and
virtuos.
First, the visitor enters a medial typewriter keyboard. The
stop noise of the mechanics clocks the visitors into the
perception sphere of the follower spaces. In the second
part the objects are staged. 26 letters each bind a slogan,
which, however, is associative, non-striking and makes
the visitor curious. Fritz Teufel‘s bicycle, for example, is
under Q „Querulant“(whiner) as Teufel was known and not
under the nearby F as a „Fahrrad“(bicycle). The accompanying
poem leads to Berlin where Teufel later lived, while
the bicycle remained in Ludwigsburg.
The interactive part of the exhibition in which the visitor
himself becomes a poet is placed where the types are painted
on the paper. This area, a tunnel of countless oversized
paper sheets, has a very memorable atmosphere. Visitors
can play with the 26 letters of the alphabet and make
new ones, perhaps even a poem.
& Feyerabend hatte die Exponate
auf einem ägyptischen Markt erworben
und nach Ludwigsburg mitgebracht.
In der 2. Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts
entwickelte sich der Orient
für ein historisch interessiertes,
gebildetes Publikum zu einem beliebten
Reiseziel. Die Entdeckungen der
Archäologen vor Augen, konnte eine
Mumienhand ein angemessenes Souvenir
sein. Für die ägyptischen Fundstätten
bedeutete dies, dass Händler
Gräber und Friedhöfe plünderten, um
an „Ware“ zu kommen. Die Mumienhand
ist einer der ältesten Zugänge zur
Sammlung des Ludwigsburg Museums und
zeugt bis heute vom umfassenden Anspruch,
den die Museumsgründer mit
ihrem Haus verbanden.
Invited to Gustav
Sulz, Germany
Interior Design
Conceptual approach is to create a place for meeting,
art and culture in the city of Sulz am Neckar.
For young and old people, also for the numerous
annual tourists of the city. The tourist information,
a café and the exhibition of paintings by
Gustav Bauerfeind are combined in the new concept
of space. The creation of Gustav Bauernfeind
served as a model for the space concept. This
begins in the exterior with the facade, which is
composed of an abstract oriental pattern. Inside,
the visitor is taken on a trip to the Orient. The
Cafe with a touristinformation is located on the
ground floor. This is the area where people can
meet eatch other. The exhibition area is situated
on the first floor. A multifunctional room with a
welcoming terrace for meetings, exhebitions and
events is placed on second floor.

AS a cotrast to the historical
houses on the location
the cubature of Gustav
Bauernfeind Building is
straight and modern. The
travelling history to the
Orient of Gustav Bauernfeind
is transfered to the
facade with a ornamental
pattern.

As an existing property the “Landtag Garage” was
chosen. The new utilization concept depends on a
location and stock analysis. The results achieved
show what influence the location of the basement
car park has on the new utilization concept.
Exemplarily it will outline how the underground
car park evolves through interior design interventions
to a place with quality of stay and providing
a supplement contribution to urban life.
Interior Design
Due to the location of the “Landtag Garage” in
the cultural district of Stuttgart a common meeting
point is to be created which connects the
different cultural categories such as music, cinema,
media and dance, theater, literature and fine
arts. On the one hand it contains an inner stand
and an open-air stand on which everyone can give
the best to their performance and on the other
hand premises suitable for temporary utilization
are available for rent for the user.
The online platform “Culturehub” provides a diversified
event and workshop offer that the user
can advertise independently. Therefore, by bringing
together the different categories a lively
exchange among each other occurs where culture
lovers and newcomers benefit from.

THE LANDTAG GARAGE
An area of 1650 m2 was
first selected for the implementation
of the Culturehub.
The remaining
area of the underground
car park can still be used
to park 96 vehicles. The
new area is separated by
a grating, so that visual
references to the busy
underground car park.
LOCATION
64

The various cultural genre
music, fine arts, theater,
literature, film and
media and dance offer
the basis for the division
of space, so six compartments
are created. In the
center of these compartments,
the community
area is created by a stage
with attendance stands.
In order to create a
connection between the
above-ground Park and
the subterranean Landtag
garage, the underground
common area is transferred
upwards, and the ceiling
of the Landtag garage
is turned upwards,
thus forming the area for
an outer stand.
