Circle Drive in New Lenox, was charged Oct. 17 with DUI-alcohol, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol. According to police reports, an officer was dispatched to the area of 191st Street on a report of a reckless driver. Gausselin was eventually stopped at South Wolf Road and Plattner Drive, at which point officers reportedly smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Gausselin’s breath. Gausselin allegedly wanted to exit his vehicle and required assistance from officers, who contacted Mokena Fire Department to evaluate Gausselin. He was transported to Silver Cross Hospital, where his blood alcohol content was allegedly .313. Gausselin was then placed under arrest before later being released from Silver Cross. Oct. 13 • Naiall J. Canavan, 47, of 2431 Helmar Lane in Joliet, was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to avoid an Attention Builders: Advertise with 22nd Century Media Reach 92,000+ Southwest Suburban homes. ® Contact Lora Healy accident, DUI-alcohol, DUI BAC over .08 and being involved in an accident with property damage. •According to police reports, an officer on patrol in the 11600 block of West 195th Street observed a vehicle parked on the grass and curb while the vehicle was still running. The officer observed extensive front end damage, including a missing front bumper. When the officer approached the vehicle, the report reads, Canavan was discovered asleep in the driver’s seat with the vehicle still in drive. Upon waking Canavan, the officer alleged there was a strong smell of alcohol coming from Canavan’s breath. The police report also indicated Canavan failed four of five field sobriety tests. Canavan’s bumper was later discovered and identified by his license plate at 191st Street and Wolf Road, along with damage to a tree and a business sign. He was arrested and allegedly had a BAC of .136. Oct. 10 • Timothy J. Ignowski, 26, of 18821 Dilber Bay in Mokena, was charged with possession of a controlled substance. •According to police reports, an officer was dispatched to the 19100 block of South Wolf Road for a report of a possible accident. Upon arrival, the officer discovered Ignowski asleep in a vehicle with heavy front end damage. According to the report, the officer woke Ignowski, searched the vehicle, and discovered four pills that were later discovered to be Alprazolam and six baggies containing fentanyl. Ignowski was transferred to Silver Cross Hospital for an involuntary committal. He was released Oct. 17 and then arrested for the possession of a controlled substance that occurred on Oct. 10. The smoke from burning leaves can irritate the eyes, nose and throat of healthy adults, small children, the elderly and people with asthma, emphysema or other lung or heart diseases. The Frankfort Township Highway Department fall leaf pickup service will start as leaves begin to fall and will end at the first measurable, or plowable, snowfall. Residents are asked to rake their leaves into piles Will County Code of Ordinances The following information pertains to leaf burning in will county Section 93.017 Permit required • Waste materials of any nature shall not be disposed of by burning on the premises or in the immediate vicinity without having obtained a permit from the state E.P.A. Section 93.018 Location of fires • Fires shall be located not less than 50 feet, unless otherwise specifically provided for herein, from any neighboring structure with adequate provision made to prevent spreading of the fire. Legitimate recreation fires shall be located not less than 50 feet from any neighboring structure. Burning in right-of-way is strictly prohibited. • Fires contained in a “patio wood-burning unit”, being a chimney, patio warmer or other portable wood burning device used for outdoor recreation and/or heating shall be at least 15 feet from any neighboring structure. Section 93.0185 Recreation fires • Recreation fires, being fires used to entertain or cook, may burn sticks, limbs, logs, charcoal, cooking or camping fuel only. Recreation fires may not exceed an area dimension of six feet by six feet. In conformance with Section 93.017 above, waste materials, including, but not limited to garbage, trash, refuse, lumber, building materials or tires shall not be burned in recreation fires. Section 93.019 Fires to be attended • All fires shall be constantly attended by a competent person until the fire is extinguished. This person shall have a hose connected to a water supply or other fire extinguishing equipment ready for use. This person shall be responsible for notifying the local fire fepartment before starting the fire. along the road edge or curb. Leaves put into bags or any type of container will not be picked up. Trucks will be out on a daily basis when needed, but every street in the Township will not be picked up every day. Leaf pickup for the Frankfort Township Highway Department will not pick up leaves in the spring. Section 93.020 Exceptions • Section 93.017 does not apply to the burning of dry leaves, branches or bushes originating on owner’s property. Section 93.017 also does not apply to controlled burns for agricultural purposes, habitat reclamation or firefighter training. Section 93.021 Neighboring structure • Neighboring structure means any and all buildings of adjacent land owner(s), whether structured on a foundation or mobile, including but not limited to houses, garages, sheds, pole barns. Section 93.022 Waste material • Waste material means all substances liquid, semi-solid or solid other than leaves, sticks, logs, branches and bushes originating on the owner’s property, charcoal and cooking or camping fuel.
