LEICA TRUVIEW TruView combines panoramic images with point cloud data allowing the user to take measurements, mark up and share views. It can provide an effective visual early decision making tool. 3D CAD MODELS We can covert point clouds to Aveva PDMS, CADWorx and Open Plant models. Using point cloud data as a basis, we can provide a bespoke product to suit your particular needs. Whether it be 3D CAD based (DWG, DGN etc.) model or intelligent PDMS database, our team will work with you to provide a solution to your unique requirements. We have extensive experience completing as-built surveys for offshore installations, this is why we are aware of the time critical nature of such kind of projects. Our knowledge and experience enabled us to develop optimised, proven and effective technology of surveying on floating objects. We developed and implemented a specific workflow for survey and network adjustment in instances where it is not possible for a total station to be levelled.
LASER SCANNING AND POINT CLOUD REGISTRATION OF THE OIL TANKER This unusual project was a decommissioned oil tanker situated on the island of Borne, Malaysia. Ultimately the tanker was going to be rebuilt as a heavy lifting vessel, technically a tugboat for other ships or even oil platforms. The plans for the refit centred around the modernisation of the ballast pumping system in order to maximise efficiency. The scope of laser scanning covered the pump room, engine room and deck. Approximately 400 individual scan positions were recorded. The completion of the control was particularly challenging due to the fact that the ship was still afloat creating movement. At 3Deling we created our own bespoke process for undertaking a control measurement in just these circumstances. The final product was a registered partially coloured point cloud. The delivered data was not only used as an aid in design works for the modernisation but also to calculate the quantity of scrap metal to be removed.
