Tools and Templates for Creating Your Course

Course Planning Blueprint
WELCOME!
I’m excited that you are creating the next level of growth for yourself and your business.
We are here to help you do great work, make a big impact and grow your tribe.
The Course Planning Blueprint is a supplemental tool for Modules 1-4. It is designed to provide a template for
defining your course outcomes and outlining your course content. I’ll show you how to do this in the learning
modules.
Once you have completed your “Blueprint”, you will be ready to build the content for your course (Modules 5-7).
Here are the tools included:
Module 1: Know You’re Building the Right Course, at the Right Time, for Your Right People ...
Before You Launch
The Client Transformation Worksheet will help you clearly identify your ideal client, the question they are
struggling to answer and the transformation that your course will deliver.
Tool: Client Transformation Worksheet
Module 2: Begin with the End in Mind-Designing Backwards from the Results Your
Course Will Deliver
The Course Outcomes Generator tool will guide you through answering the four key questions you must
address in your course. By intentionally addressing each question, you will engage all learning styles and avoid
some of the most common mistakes in course design.
Tool: Course Outcomes Generator
Module 3: Structure Your Course Content to Create Learning That Sticks (and Learners that Stick With It)
The Course Content Storyboard will help you visually plan how all of your content will fit together to deliver the
desired result.
Tool: Course Content Storyboard
Module 4: Tools, Tips & Strategies to Recreate the Power of One-on-One Experiences in
Your Online Course
The Activity Planning tool will help you animate your content by including activities that engage all learning styles.
Module 1: Client Transformation Worksheet
Who is your ideal participant?
Describe in as much detail as possible the ideal participant for this course.
Ex: Gender, age, experience level, role, background, people they follow, books they read.
What is the question they want answered?
Write the question in the language your ideal clients would use.
Ex: How can I get my dog to listen to me? How can I communicate with my teenager?
What’s the transformation?
After they complete the course, what will happen? If your course participants fast- forward 30, 60 or 90 days after the course, what
new results will they see? Ex: A steady flow of ideal prospects that convert easily into your for-fee programs.
Module 4: Activity Planning Tool
For each module, you will address the four key learning questions: why, what, how and if. You will do this by
including activities and content delivery strategies that encourage your students to explore each question. The
inventory of activities found in Module 4 will give you ideas of the types of activities you can include in your course
design to address each question.
Here’s an example:
