Solar Bicycle<br />
Nowadays, the price of oil keeps on increasing.<br />
People want to use electricity instead of oil to<br />
operate transport. In China, the industry of electric<br />
bikes has grown rapidly in these 10 years. The<br />
design of electric bikes trends to more<br />
environmentally friendly. Solar energy is one of a<br />
new ways to replace electricity. The energy from the<br />
sun can be used to run electronic devices.<br />
In this project, a solar powered bicycle was<br />
designed. The materials used are more<br />
environmentally friendly and the cost is much lower<br />
than the existing solar powered bike. The maximum<br />
speed of the bike is 20km/hr. The charging time by<br />
using electricity is 2-3 hours and 4-6 hours by using<br />
solar energy. The design fulfills the requirements of<br />
China’s government. Also, our target market is<br />
China. We have analyzed the market for of electric<br />
bikes to understand the needs of its citizens. The<br />
target customers want to have an electric bike with a<br />
light weight and don’t need to recharge frequently.<br />
They also care about the safety of the bike.<br />
The most important thing before starting the project<br />
we must clearly understand about the topic that we<br />
want to do. So by doing the literature review we can<br />
gain knowledge to make sure we fully understand<br />
and can complete the project.<br />

After we did the research, we conclude that Solar<br />
Bike can work on it. First, as the resource is<br />
exhausting, the world trend must be developed to<br />
use green power to reduce the speed of losing<br />
resource, and also those green powers are more<br />
environmental friendly. Second, if we want to get<br />
more market shares in the China market, our product<br />
need to have great quality and do the safety well. For<br />
further development, we need to improve the solar<br />
panel efficiency. That can improve the advantage of<br />
the solar bicycle.<br />

SOLAR IMPULSE<br />
The basic configuration of an electric bicycle drive<br />
consists of a controller that controls the power flow<br />
from the battery to the electric motor. This power<br />
flow acts in parallel with the power delivered by the<br />
Solar Impulse is a Swiss long-range experimental<br />
solar-powered aircraft project, and the name of the<br />
project's two operational aircraft. The privately<br />
financed project is led by Swiss engineer and<br />
businessman André Borschberg and Swiss<br />
psychiatrist and balloonist Bertrand Piccard, who copiloted<br />
Breitling Orbiter 3, the first balloon to circle<br />
