THE STORY
Shakespeare was an English poet, considered the most
important writer of the English language. With a lot of works in its
history. One of the most famous was "Romeo and Juliet".
Remembered at all times. He died in 1616. In that same year, a
similar writer also dies, but this time of Spanish speech, which was
recognized by the novels he wrote, Miguel de Cervantes and his
most renowned work Don Quixote.
POINT OF VIEW
According to the BBC news article, Shakespeare
overshadowed Cervantes despite his worldwide recognition.
This due to the commemoration that is done to both writers.
But has become popular the recognition of Shakespeare in
his festival “Shakespeare live”, leaving at side the recognition
of Cervantes to his works and the contribution he has made
in literature. For many years the works of Shakespeare have
been read and reproduced in more than 1000 and his
romantic phrases or paragraphs quoted in many more
movies. On the contrary, the writings of Cervantes, have not
been successful in the cinema. This is because the content of
his famous work Don Quixote is more dense than other
books, which makes less easy to take it to the cinema than
the counterpart.
CONCLUSION
With the above, I can say that although Cervantes is also
recognized for his great works, he can not be as great as
Shakespeare, I prefer Shakespeare who had great and
unique ways of expressing his feelings and thoughts in his
works and also transmit them to the public that reads it,
follows it and remembers it during all these years. Two brilliant
writers, but certainly one bigger and better remembered
than the other. Yes it's correct! Shakespeare eclipsed
Cervantes.
