Can I set criteria for shortlisting potential apprentices?
Yes, employers are encouraged to be involved in the selection and shortlisting process.
There are standard entry requirements we follow depending on the level of the
Apprenticeship.
What are my costs for an apprentice for tuition fees and salary?
Non-Levy paying company fees: Tuition fees vary from £1,500 to £27,000 depending
on industry, job and level.
Levy paying companies pay full fees out of their Digital Account. If digital account
funds are insufficient, anything above is paid at 10% of the fee salary: you must pay at
least national minimum wage which is £3.50 per hour (from September 2017). You can
pay more than this rate and many employers increase wages as skills develop. Research
shows apprentices earn an average of £170 per week.
