Introducing SHOEI Neotec II:
MERGE WITH NATURE
November 7th, 2017
As the successor to the very popular „Neotec“ model introduced at the end of 2011,
the Neotec II now offers numerous new features and functions that are again leading
the way in the flip-up helmet segment. In addition, this model can be equipped with
a fully integrated communication solution for the first time.
New flip-up helmet with groundbreaking design
The striking design of the Neotec II certainly stands out first. Its even more aggressive look
and extremely compact design thanks to three different shell sizes, combined with a perfect
fit and maximum functionality, distinguish this model.
New lines, a flat finish of the visor and chin section, as well as the partial use of black components
create a modern and homogeneous overall appearance.
In order to fit as many motorcycle models as possible, the upper ventilation also serves
as a spoiler when riding upright, while in a sportier and forward driving position, the rear
spoilerstyle shape of the shell particularly achieves its stabilizing effect.
Enjoy the comfort zone
In order to make longer journeys even more pleasant, we have optimized the wearing
comfort of the new Neotec II and reduced unwanted disturbance factors.
Thanks to the „noise isolation“ construction, the innovative cheek pads developed in the
wind tunnel prevent the ingress of wind and thus allow for a much quieter driving experience.
When the stainless steel micro ratchet is closed, the Neotec II offers a very effective
downwards draft shield.
The chin spoiler (Aero Deflector) has also been redesigned to promote stability and allow
relaxed driving with low turbulence.
The 3D-designed, fully removable and washable interieur consists of several urethane
foams in different degrees of hardness and offers a perfect fit and extremely high wearing
comfort.
Reworked flip-up-mechanism
As with its predecessor, the Neotec II‘s flip-up-mechanism is eccentrically shaped and
equipped with a variable axis to ensure optimum locking.
The face cover is held securely in its upper position by a stronger mechanism. In addition,
there is another rear snap-in position which makes the P/J double homologation as a jet
and integral helmet possible.
The release button of the Neotec II‘s flip-up-mechanism has been designed to work well
even in winter with thicker gloves.
The rear edge of the face cover also has a vortex generator, which noticeably calms the air
flow at this transition point.
Sophisticated safety function
The Neotec II has an Advanced Integrated Matrix (AIM) shell made up of five different
fiberglass and organic layers. This achieves an optimal compromise of maximum stability
and flexibility.
The liner of the Neotec II also consists of several EPS elements of different hardness, depending
on the area, and thus optimally absorbs impact energy.
Integrated communication for the first time
A completely new feature at SHOEI is the possibility to fully integrate an optionally available
communication system into the helmet shell. With the Neotec II, a separate, triangularly
shaped control unit has been provided on the lower side of the helmet, which is completely
embedded in the helmet shell and thus allows a homogeneous appearance.
The leading manufacturer „SENA“ is a partner of SHOEI and with its SRL* system (SHOEI
Rider Link) developed especially for the Neotec II, it offers the suitable intercom option in a
pioneering 3-button design.
The chipset of the SRL* is based on SENA‘s 20S system and is currently the best communication
solution on the market. Up to eight riders can connect via Bluetooth 4.1 with
a maximum range of 2 km, communicate with each other, listen to music, use the mobile
phone or navigation system and much more.
Enough air for long distance touring
A newly developed ventilation system makes it a perfect choice for touring riders.
The lower air inlet is newly designed, supplies fresh air to the mouth and visor area and is
particularly airtight when closed.
The upper ventilation has been designed with two air intakes compared to the predecessor,
while above the slots in the rear area there are already air outlets.
The rear ventilation with its three additional air outlets serves as spoiler and pulls the used
air out of the helmet through this vacuum.
Visor without hard edge
The new CNS-3 visor stands out in the upper area with its bevelled edge, which especially
prevents moisture and rain from finding their way into the inside of the helmet. In addition,
the visor seal has been redesigned to provide a tight seal between visor and outer shell.
Different material thicknesses and a distortion-free, extra-large view distinguish the injection-molded
CNS-3 visor made of polycarbonate.
The integrated QSV-1 sun visor of the Neotec II can now optionally be replaced with a HD
yellow and contrast-enhancing lens. The cut-out opening of the helmet shell for the sun
visor mechanism has also been considerable reduced, which has led to a significant increase
in stability in this area.
The Neotec II will be available from January 2018 at a price starting at a recommended
retail price of 599, - EUR in six different sizes (XS-XXL), seven colours and three graphic
variants.
*The SRL Intercom system developed by SENA especially for the Neotec II is offered and
sold exclusively by SHOEI at the retail price of 299, - EUR.
