number of therapies such as Home Parenteral<br />

Nutrition, Ostomy supplies, Continence supplies,<br />

Home Haemodialysis, Out Patient Parenteral<br />

TransCare is an established B. Braun service experienced in<br />

providing dedicated care to patients in the comfort of their<br />

home. B. Braun TransCare has built up a reputation over a<br />

number of years to be a quality homecare provider.<br />

We work in partnership with healthcare professionals in<br />

the NHS to ensure a seamless transfer of patient care from<br />

hospital to home. We understand that follow-up care is a<br />

very complex task, especially when it involves intensive and<br />

complex therapies. We have the Clinical, Regulatory and<br />

Contractual expertise to ensure that we provide quality care<br />

to the patient in their home.<br />

and we communicate with our patients at every step of their<br />

homecare journey to ensure that they understand and feel<br />

INVESTING IN PATIENT SAFETY<br />

At B. Braun TransCare we recognise that healthcare provision<br />

is more than just the supply of products and services. Central<br />

to our philosophy is delivering and maintaining the highest<br />

possible quality service to our patients.<br />

B. Braun TransCare operates a Quality Management System<br />

(QMS) whereby our structure, resources and procedures<br />

ensure we consistently meet the standards our customers<br />

and patients require. The standards we operate to are the<br />

ISO9001:2015 standard, which we have been awarded,<br />

the Care Quality Commission regulations, with which<br />

we are registered, and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society<br />

Professional Standards for Homecare Services.<br />

With the backing of the entire B. Braun Medical UK and the<br />

wider global organisation, the B. Braun TransCare QMS feeds<br />

into a global regulatory and medical affairs department/<br />

network including pharmacovigilance, product complaints<br />

and product recall management.<br />

TransCare is invested in patient safety<br />

The foundation of our QMS is a framework of risk<br />

management and continuous improvement in which we act<br />

on every complaint and incident to perform trend analysis<br />

in order to identify any further preventative measures to<br />

reduce risk and improve our service.<br />

B. Braun has invested in IT development in order to<br />

securely and effectively capture patient safety incidents<br />

in our complaints and incidents management database<br />

and to report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). We<br />

work with the NHS to ensure our KPI reports are using the<br />

latest templates, include all data fields required and meet<br />

reporting deadlines.<br />

As a full member of the National Clinical Homecare<br />

Association (NCHA), B. Braun TransCare attends and<br />

contributes at Clinical Governance work stream meetings<br />

which have a standardisation agenda, working on projects<br />

in line with the National Homecare Medicines Committee.<br />

Finally, B. Braun TransCare uses a N3 connection to maintain<br />

IGT Level 2 compliance in line with our Information<br />

Governance policies and procedures. We securely transfer<br />

patient sensitive data using verified email accounts.

We have dedicated field service engineers that<br />

visit patients in their homes to ensure that all of<br />

our equipment in the home is compliant with our<br />

contractual requirements.<br />

We have an online planning system for nurse<br />

visits to help ensure patient safety and clear<br />

communication regarding nurse visit times. This<br />

also guarantees accurate invoices to our NHS<br />

Customers and electronic proof of nurse visits to<br />

INVESTING IN ASEPTIC<br />

COMPOUNDING<br />

B. Braun has invested in a modern aseptic unit enabling<br />

TransCare to accommodate the growing needs of the<br />

homecare market to ensure sustainability for the future of<br />

homecare.<br />

Our in-house aseptic compounding and dispensing facility<br />

is MHRA licensed, GMP compliant and is a RPSGB registered<br />

premise. It is inspected by the MHRA, the NHS (through<br />

regional QC visit) and audited internally from our head<br />

office.<br />

Our aseptic unit, together with a team of dedicated<br />

Pharmacists, technicians and dispensers, are overseen<br />

by our Superintendent Pharmacist and Quality Assurance<br />

Manager. Our Pharmacists have years of knowledge and<br />

experience in aseptic compounding for our homecare<br />

patients and are committed to delivering quality products<br />

securely to the patients home.<br />

At B. Braun TransCare we are experts in High<br />

Tech Homecare, specialising in Home Parenteral<br />

Nutrition (HPN).<br />

We have many years experience in providing a<br />

quality HPN service to patients.<br />

We understand HPN is a complex service. We<br />

have the expertise, experience and necessary<br />

skill to work as a trusted partner of the NHS. We<br />

work closely with nutrition teams, nursing staff,<br />

dieticians and healthcare professionals to ensure<br />

we effectively deliver treatment to patients in their<br />

HOME PARENTERAL<br />

NUTRITION<br />

We provide a patient information pack to all of our<br />

new patients that come onto our Homecare Service.<br />

This contains information about all aspects of their care<br />

including vital contact information. We have a freephone<br />

number that is operational 24 hours per day, 7 days per<br />

week.<br />

A tailored service to suit the clinical needs<br />

and lifestyle of each patient.<br />

We can also arrange for patients to receive a text message<br />

to confirm the date and time of their deliveries. We have<br />

a validated cold chain delivery service that use unmarked<br />

vans to ensure a discrete service to our patients and our<br />

drivers are fully trained to make homecare deliveries.<br />

We work in partnership with clinical specialists and<br />

commissioning teams to provide seamless transfer of<br />

patients from hospital to home.<br />
