about our own inadequacies. We always seem to be looking for a way to
avoid your call. Remind us, Lord, that we do not rely on our own strength
or wisdom, but your promise to be with us in every endeavor. In Jesus’

The Judgment of the Nations
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he
will sit on the throne of his glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and
he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from
the goats, 33 and he will put the sheep at his right hand and the goats at the
left. 34 Then the king will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, you that are blessed
by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the
world; 35 for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me
something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and
you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you

The Wall of Honor
Hope’s Wall of Honor is an everlasting tribute to our Veterans. It was designed and
donated to Hope by Brother Sid Taylor, a US Marine, Vietnam combat veteran and
beloved member of Hope. It is a memorial tribute to commemorate the sacrifices our
veterans have made for our country. We are grateful to Sid and his family for blessing
us all with the beautiful Wall of Honor.

New names are added to the Wall of Honor every Veteran’s Day. If you, a loved one, or
a friend served in the armed forces and would like to be added to the Wall, please
complete the Wall of Honor form located in the Literature Rack and place it in the Wall of
Honor mailbox outside the Sanctuary. God bless you.

The holiday season is upon us and as we enjoy
the upcoming weeks ahead celebrating the birth
of our Lord, let us not forget about those
families who struggle . The Angel Tree Program
"adopts" families to provide gifts for children
and to give the parents a helping hand in
providing a Merry Christmas. This year the
Missions Ministry have received 50 needy
families' wish list. We are requesting that you
consider adopting a child(ren) or a family
and fulfill their wish list.
Missions Ministry will have a table outside of
the sanctuary after both services through
December 10 for you to sign up and select a
family and accept the gifts.

Michigan Area Bishop David Alan Bard has
appointed Reverend Rosaline D. Green as newly
appointed associate pastor of Hope United
Methodist Church, Southfield, Michigan
effective December 1, 2017.
She became a member of Hope in 1998 and has
served in many areas of the church and currently is
serving as a direct hire Executive Pastor at Hope
United Methodist Church.
In 2003, she received a Bachelor’s Degree from
Destiny School of Ministry with Studies in Pastoral
Ministry and a Master’s of Theology Degree from
Destiny Christian University in 2008. On November
12, 2017 Reverend Rosaline celebrated the
completion of training received from the Michigan
Area License Local Pastor School sponsored by the
United Methodist Church.
Reverend Rosaline D. Green
Reverend Green was married to the late Rev. John A. Green Sr. for 38 years. She
began serving with him at Grace CME in Detroit in 1967. She has four adult
children, Faith, Alisa, John Jr. and Ja’Net, two son-in-law’s Gregory and Khary. 6
grandchildren Tamara, Taylor, Kolby and Kyden (who is now with the angles and his
granddad in heaven), Gregory and Olivia. Their oldest daughter, Rev. Faith Green
Timmons is a UMC Elder serving as Senior Pastor at Bethel UMC in Flint.
We praise God for the leadership of Rev. Rosaline Green and look forward to how
God will use her in this new appointment.
We will celebrate Rev. Green on Sunday, December 10, 2017.

fellowship in memory of those who have gone on to Glory. Please join us to celebrate
the memory of your loved ones and to praise the Lord for the time we had with them.

Hope, we need your help to stock our pantry to feed our neighbors in
need for the upcoming year. Your donations can be placed in the
Missions food barrels near the kitchen and Room 24 anytime during
the week.
The following items are of special need:
Cereal, canned tuna and salmon, canned fruits and
vegetables, canned soups, rice, beans,
mashed potatoes, boxed macaroni and cheese, pancake
mix, syrup, canned pasta meals, canned chili, peanut butter,
jelly and juice.
Last year Hope blessed approximately 400 families with a food
basket!
