Nebraska CASA Association is a network of 21 local programs in
Nebraska serving 47 counties. We recruit, screen, train and support
Court Appointed Special Advocates. Those advocates are volunteers
-just like you- who are appointed by a judge to speak for the
well-being of abused and neglected children.

2017 President’s View
Happy Holidays!!!
Hard to believe that the Holiday Season is here! As I write this, I am reflecting on my
year as the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Omaha, President and what it has meant to
me. I feel truly thankful and blessed to be a part of such a positive network of business
professionals that I have had the privilege of getting to know, working beside and
becoming friends with. The leadership team was an amazing well oiled machine, true
leaders that jumped into their roles and honestly, went above and beyond! I can not
thank them enough!
During the November luncheon we invited Past Presidents to join us and be recognized for
their service to Women’s Council. This year, 18 amazing women joined us and shared
what being a member of Women’s Council of REALTORS® has meant to them. It is
because of their leadership in the past that we are so strong and it will be with their help
and all of you, our members that when we continue to “Shake things up” next year, we
will grow even stronger!
Please plan on attending our Holiday Installation on December 14th. We will install our
2018 officers and recognize even more amazing members with special awards. Thank you
from the bottom of my heart for allowing me the opportunity to represent our
organization this past year. I will cherish the time I had as your local president, and
promise to continue to support and grow the Omaha Women’s Council of REALTORS®
into the future.
I encourage you to get involved, experience Women’s Council on the level of commitment
you are comfortable with. (I started on the FUN golf committee) and see not only what
being a part of such a great organization can do for you, but what
you and your talent offers Women’s Council of REALTORS®. You
may surprise yourself!
Now let’s go shake things up!

Ending the Year Nose to Nose
My last article for 2017 is going to have nothing to do with technology and everything
to do with YOU! As we learn more and consume ourselves in the world of iPhones,
and iPads and digital this and 4G that, there’s something that will never ever change;
The Personal Touch.
We can video message people and call them and send texts and
newsletters but your face in front of their face will never go out of
style. I read recently that the more exposed we are to technology
the more distrust and loyalty we have in it. I was once told “never eat alone”.
Nothing beats breaking bread and chatting nose to nose with your clients, friends and
referral sources. Giving them your time, the most valuable thing of all, is a gift they
will appreciate long after the texts and voicemails
have been deleted. Showing someone you
genuinely care about them will make their day
and they won’t forget it.
So I challenge you, as you’re making your
marketing plans for 2018 (Or you should be
anyway) don’t forget to include the ever so
important lunch and coffee meetings.
I’ve also been told “when your mouth is full you
can’t say the wrong thing”… let that sink in!
