MED LIFE : Peru 2013”
On a recent visit to Peru this past spring break, The USC Medlife group was given the unique privilege of helping
local clinics with administering basic medicine and care to the poor rural communities. Faced with scarce living
spaces, these communities often stack themselves onto the steep slopes of Pamplona Alta with no governmental
support or outreach.
In the past, pregnant women have fallen down the mountain because of no viable means of transportation.
Touched by this tragic back story, students were greatly honored to have helped with building a staircase for them
and celebrating its completion with the local families.
