Travel to <strong>Cluj</strong>-<strong>Napoca</strong><br />
Arrival:<br />
• If you arrive at <strong>Cluj</strong>-<strong>Napoca</strong> <strong>International</strong> Airport, you may arrive to the Universitas Complex<br />
either by bus (public transportation) or taxi:<br />
by bus: exit the airport area and take the bus 8 to Regionala CFR Bus Station,<br />
change to bus 4 to Piaţa Gării Bus Station then change to bus/tram 101 to Strada<br />
Plopilor Bus Station and you will find yourself directly in front <strong>of</strong> the Universitas<br />
Complex.<br />
NOTES: Two-trip tickets can be purchased for ~ € 1 (3.5 RON) from the ticket kiosks to be<br />
found in any bus station. After getting in the bus, you must punch the ticket at one end in one<br />
<strong>of</strong> the punching machines available. The schedule for the public transportation is: Monday-<br />
Friday 5 a.m – 10:45 p.m, Saturday-Sunday 6 a.m – 10:45 p.m.<br />
by taxi: the cost is around € 10 from the airport to the Universitas Complex. We<br />
suggest you to use one <strong>of</strong> the companies Diesel, Pritax, Nova Taxi and Terra<br />
Fan.<br />
• If you arrive by train at <strong>Cluj</strong>-<strong>Napoca</strong> Train Station (Gara <strong>Cluj</strong>-Npoca) you may take bus/tram<br />
101 (the bus station is located in front <strong>of</strong> the Train Station) to Strada Plopilor Bus Station and<br />
you will find yourself directly in front <strong>of</strong> the Universitas Complex.<br />
If you decide to take a taxi, the cost is around € 7 from the train station to the Universitas<br />
Complex.<br />
• �If you arrive by car:<br />
From the north-west (E60)<br />
1. Leave E60/DN1 at junction Calea Floresti with B-dul 1 Decembrie 1918, follow exist to B-dul<br />
1 Decembrie 1918<br />
2. Turn right on B-dul 1 Decembrie 1918<br />
3. Continue on B-dul 1 Decembrie 1918, cross river Someş and keep driving until the first<br />
traffic light junction, having river Someş on your right<br />

4. Turn right on Giuseppe Garibaldi Street, cross river Someş (bridge Garibaldi) and<br />
5. Turn right on Splaiul Independentei Street<br />
6. Keep driving on Plopilor Street for about 150-200 meters, leaving the Sports Hall (Sala<br />
Sporturilor) on the right, and you will reach the Universitas Complex on the right.<br />
From the east (E576)<br />
1. Follow E576 on Traian Vuia Street<br />
2. Continue on Aurel Vlaicu Street (E576) towards the city centre<br />
3. Keep driving on Bdul 21 Decembrie 1989 (E576), leaving the Orthodox Cathedral on the left,<br />
4. Keep driving on Memorandumului Street (E576), leaving the Catholic Cathedral on the left,<br />
and then on Calea Mănăştur Street.<br />
5. At the first junction, turn right on George Cosbuc Street<br />
6. Turn the second street to left on Aleea Stadionului, having <strong>Cluj</strong> Arena on the right and Hotel<br />
Sport on the left.<br />
7. Turn the first to right on Uzinei Electrice Street<br />
8. Turn the first to left on Splaiul Independenţei Street<br />
9. Keep driving on Plopilor Street for about 150-200 meters, leaving the Sports Hall (Sala<br />
Sporturilor) on the right, and you will reach the Universitas Complex on the right.<br />

From Universitas Complex to the main building <strong>of</strong> <strong>Universitatea</strong> <strong>Babeş</strong>-<strong>Bolyai</strong> (1, Mihail<br />
Kogălniceanu Street) you may<br />
walk – 40-45 minutes walk<br />
Take the bus/tram 101, 102 to G. Baritiu Bus Station and then walk following the<br />
directions:<br />
1. Go straight ahead on Regele Ferdinand Street to Unirii Square<br />
2. At the first traffic light junction (Unirii Square) turn right and go straight ahead for<br />
about 50 meters, having St. Michael Cathedral on your left<br />
3. At the first junction (Unirii Square with Matei Corvin Street and Memorandumului<br />
street) turn left<br />
4. Go straight ahead having St. Michael Cathedral on your left<br />
5. At the first junction go ahead on Universităţii Street<br />
6. Turn left on Mihail Kogalniceanu Street and you will find yourself in front <strong>of</strong> the<br />
University’s main building (1, Mihail Kogălniceanu Street).<br />
Public Transportation in <strong>Cluj</strong>-<strong>Napoca</strong><br />
