“PARIYON KI PARWAZ-II” : EDUCATIONAL & MOTIVATIONAL TOUR FOR GIRLS & PROSTHETIC LIMBS TO REMOTE BORDER VILLAGERS In an endeavour to assist the residents of remote villages of the Valley, the Pir Panjal Brigade has helped six locals of Sahora and Hathlanga villages to once again stand on their own feet. The Army in collaboration with a Noida based Automobile Company, MINDA Foundation provided prosthetic limbs to physically challenged individuals who had lost their legs to stray mines or firing by Pakistan. The army identified such beneficiaries and flew them to Delhi on 14 Dec 2017 and the next day they were provided with prosthetic legs in a grand function attended by many senior officials 31 Sub Area, flagged off the nine day tour from Badami Bagh Cantonment which will entail visits to premier Educational Institutes and Industries including Miranda House, IIT Delhi, Jesus & Mary College, Lady Hardinge Medical College, Ericsson Telecom India Pvt Ltd and DMRC. The students will also get an opportunity to visit the places of rich cultural heritage which will cover Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Lotus Temple, India Gate and Red Fort. They would also be interacting with the Hon'ble Defence Minister of India, Smt Nirmala Sitharaman. The tour participants will also get unique of Mahindra and Honda automobiles. Upon returning to Srinagar, the happiness and joy visible on their faces was itself an acknowledgment of the Army's genuine concern and honest efforts. Meanwhile, As part of the Army's initiative to introduce the girl students to avenues and opportunities available in other parts of the country, the Army has organised a National Integration, Educational & Motivational tour to Delhi and Agra for 30 girl students from various st schools, colleges and 1 Bn NCC of Srinagar. The students are accompanied by 02 female teachers and a team from Army. th On 20 December Maj Gen R Ravi, GOC opportunities like Delhi Metro train joyride, Movie at PVR and visits to Kingdom of Dreams, National Rail Museum, National Science Centre and Tank Museum at Delhi. The joyous & spirited students said that they are carrying the message of “Peace, Love and Honour” to the various parts of country. The parents, guardians and teachers who were present at the flagging off ceremony also expressed gladness at such opportunities being afforded by the Army.
