DDT Summer Madness X was our
10th Anniversary Trip. We had initially
tried to go to St Lucia, because
that’s the place where I conceptualized
starting DDT- but they didn’t
have a Resort large enough to accommodate
our large group. I looked
at several Resorts and settled on
the Hard Rock Heaven. The added
bonus was it had an Adults Only
section too. We contracted the Soul
Singer Jeff Redd, Hip Hop Legends
“Nice and Smooth”, Comedian
Capone (and friends) and 6 DJs:
The incredible DJ Hollywood, The
Harlem Show Stopper DJ Danny
Dee, WBLS own DJ Tommy Allen,
The Great DJ Sylk, The GoGo Pro
DJ Rob and the Hip Hop specialist
DJ Ha. We had an appearance by
the Twin Poets who did a couple of
recitals. We had our Sunday Sermon
with Brother Juice man and Rev Dr.
Irie Session and 2 Charity Drives.
Our Theme parties were superb: Pajama
Party, Harlem Nights Ball, All
Star Sports Jersey Party, Pool/Foam
parties.
Concert on the Beach and finishing
with our Egyptian Pharaohs and
Queens party. We also had our first
wedding with 2 DDT Family members:
Billy and Jacqui, jumping the
broom. The after parties were live
at the Club with a pool for a dance
floor. The accommodations were
luxurious with rooftop suites, gourmet
food and top shelf liquor.
