MCGONAGALL’S CHRONICLES
By Gary McNair
TUE 3 – SAT 7 APR, 1PM; FRI 6 APR, 7PM
A biography of the late Dundonian poet
Sir William Topaz McGonagall, written in
‘almost rhyming verse’ - the only way to
honour the man who has come to be known
as the world’s worst poet. Performed by Gary
McNair, the play charts the poet’s life story
and gets to the heart of the dilemma that
surrounds his legend - is it okay to laugh at
someone’s obvious and relentless failings?
EULOGY
By Rob Drummond
TUE 24 – SAT 28 APR, 1PM; FRI 27 APR, 7PM
Six years ago Sandy ruined his daughter’s
wedding day with a Top Table speech for
the ages. Well, the joke’s on him, because
now, he’s dead. You are cordially invited to
Sandy’s memorial service, where his life
will be eulogised. Be prepared to laugh, cry
and sing your hearts out as we send Sandy
off to the hereafter. Let’s hope everything
goes smoothly this time round.
RACHEL’S COUSINS
By Ann Marie di Mambro
TUE 10 – SAT 14 APR, 1PM; FRI 13 APR, 7PM
Rachel is a successful woman and, frankly,
a bit of a snob. She wants nothing to do
with her mother’s side of the family, whom
she thinks of as a reckless bunch of benefit
cheats. But when Rachel discovers she is at
risk of breast cancer, she feels duty bound
to let her cousins know. She didn’t mean to
let them into her life but they come barging
in anyway, and shake up her tidy life.
MARGARET SAVES SCOTLAND
By Val McDermid
TUE 17 – SAT 21 APR, 1PM; FRI 20 APR, 7PM
Margaret Holt embarked on a holiday
romance with a difference and it
changed her life. Falling in love with
Scotland filled her with a burning desire
to liberate the country from the English
yoke. But what could a nine-year-old lass
from Yorkshire do to make that dream
come true? Join Margaret as she embarks
on the journey of a lifetime.
BUBBLEWRAP
By Hilary Lyon
TUE 1 – SAT 5 MAY, 1PM; FRI 4 MAY, 7PM
It’s one of the ten most stressful things
we do apparently, and we do it on average
seven times in a lifetime, but moving
home is not just about packing and
unpacking stuff. Whilst wading through
the contents of seemingly endless boxes,
Kirsty and Alex unwittingly start to
unwrap their lives. Can they withstand
the emotional unpacking; and what is
lurking in that box marked ‘Pandora’?
