PASTORAL STAFFING UPDATE
Beginning February 1, Pastor Kristin Skare and Pastor Tyler
Strom become full-time pastors at Word of Peace. This enables
the pastoral staff to cover the ministry areas that Pastor
Keith worked with, along with the addition of a parttime
Small Group Ministry Leader (see “Other Staffing Updates,”
right, for details),
Pastor Kristin continues to serve as
Pastor of Spiritual Care overseeing the
ministry areas of congregational care,
caring ministries, and women’s ministry.
She adds to her responsibilities
serving as pastoral advisor to the Children,
Youth, and Family (CYF) Ministry.
She serves as the team liaison for the
Care Team and CYF Team.
Pastor Tyler continues to serve as the
Pastor of Faith in Action overseeing
the ministry areas of local ministry,
global ministry, mental health, senior
citizens, and volunteer ministry. He
adds to his responsibilities serving as
the pastoral advisor to the following
ministries: fellowship, small group/
adult education, and communications.
He serves as the team liaison for the
Social Ministry Team, Global Missions
Team, and Life & Growth Team.

Other Staffing Updates
Word of Peace is currently hiring a
part-time Volunteer Coordinator and a
part-time Event Coordinator. The Volunteer
Coordinator coordinates the
work of all volunteers at Word of
Peace, which includes opportunities
to assist with worship, hospitality, and
our many ministry areas. The Event
Coordinator organizes and supervises
events integral to the life of the congregation
and plans and implements
opportunities that create fellowship
within the church and outreach to the
community. Together these positions
will strengthen our congregation’s vision
and mission of hospitality.
We are also in the process of interviewing
several strong candidates for
the full-time position of Director of
Youth Ministry. This position provides
leadership and oversight to the high
school, confirmation, and middle
school ministries. To help with the additional
youth ministry programming
in the summer, Word of Peace will be
hiring two summer interns.
Compelled by our vision “to be a community
where everyone knows Christ’s
love and shares Christ’s love with all
people,” we have a strong desire to
build relationships. We want to continue
connecting to each other and
develop deeper friendships to support
each other and grow in faith together.
To help us accomplish this, we
look to hire a part-time Small Group
Coordinator to lead us in growing this
ministry.
Pastor Rick continues to serve as
Lead Pastor overseeing the ministry
areas of worship, staffing, administration,
finances, and men’s ministry. He
adds to his responsibilities serving as
the pastoral advisor to the stewardship
ministry. He serves as the team
liaison for the Executive Team, Strategic
Planning Team, Stewardship
Team, and Endowment Fund Team.

And finally, inspiring and engaging
worship continues to be a high priority
at Word of Peace. To further facilitate
this, we look to complete our full ensemble
of worship leaders and musicians
at all of our worship services.
We are excited about all of these staff
positions as they will help us to grow
our vision and mission in 2018. Please
