Malija
Featuring jazz saxophonist Mark Lockheart, bassist Jasper
Hoiby and pianist Liam Noble, Malija is a sophisticated,
genre-bending trio that has been delighting audiences
since 2014, now coming to St Endellion as part of a UK
tour promoting their second album Instinct. The band’s
idiomatic sweep through bluegrass, tango, abstract
grooves and shimmering landscapes is delivered with flair
and playful abandon.
Week of Prayer for Church Unity 2018
This year’s service was devised by the Churches of the
Caribbean and was entitled ‘That All May Be Free’.
Delabole’s celebration took place at St John’s and was
led by Rev Angela Cooper. Unfortunately, Rev Bryan was
unwell and unable to take part, so Patricia Molloy stepped
in to read the sermon that he had prepared.
The congregation heard of the Caribbean’s history of
oppression and slavery but was also told of these bonds
being replaced by new human bonds of love and
community - and in this action of God they found their
unity.
Many people took part in the service which concluded with
a time of fellowship, coffee and cake.
The deadline
for the
March 2018 edition
