SANTA TEREZA
branding
For a Practice Projetual II class work, was asked students
to select a specific part of the city and make a deeply
study of the neighborhood - texts, articles, interviews
and visual references - with this material in hands,
the students should develop a complete visual identity
design project. I chose work with the Santa Tereza
neighborhood, one of the most traditional neighborhood
of the Belo Horizonte city, its traditionalism contrasts
with its bustling nightlife and its reputation of bohemian.
Thus, in the identity I wanted to return at this typical
values, getting clear the contrast between them.
It was also asked to develop a promotional gift that
demonstrate and promote the visual identity chosen for
the project.
ECCENTRIC
postcards
The project was part of the Creation Process, subject of
Graphic Design course at the Universidade Estadual de Minas
Gerais (UEMG). The students had to create a “postcard’s kit”
(postcards, seals, stamp and packaging) that should translate
the world created by then in the previous sketchbook. In
my world I decide to work with a futuristic and silver place
called Eccentric, where people were free to live their own
eccentricities in the most artistic way.
ANTROPÓFAGO
“Only anthropophagy
unites us. Socially.
Economically.
Philosophically.”
ANDRADE, Oswald de.
Anthropophagic Manifest,1928
The project was made to the Graphic Expression III class,
in a thematic work called “Surfaces of a place.” I decided
to work with a tropical concept based on a brazilian art
movement of the 20s which is the Antropofagismo. This
aesthetic was a milestone in the recovery of national
culture, rescuing the anthropology origins of Brazil,
but considering the modernist influences from other
countries. The idea was understanding everything that
came from outside, matching with the cultural and
regional background existing and produce a modernist
Brazilian aesthetic.

The project focus on the works of the painter Tarsila do
Amaral, one of the leading exponents of the movement.
I worked with the elements of her paintings, to create
patterns that express the tropical potential. For the
application was chosen a fashion collection.
URBAN LANDSCAPES
photography
The project was made to the Psychology, Perception and Shape
class. The theme was “Narrative looks at the urban landscapes”
and the goal was to develop a close look at the city that the student
was inserted. As a basis, book excerpts were used to guide the
student’s to produce photos. I chose to work with the details, the
minutiae of the city, finding the simplistic poetic amid the urban
chaos. The project results are five photographs and a presentation
booklet analyzing the formal characteristics of the image.
GUMP
toy art
The project in question is part of the Methodology Applied
to the Design Process discipline and is divided into two
stages and was based on the chosen characteristics
of the students themselves. At first, was developed a
editorial project to explain who are the student, their
characteristics and embodiments, a kind of “briefing”.
In the second stage, the student should apply all of
these previously chosen characteristics in a toy art,
to embody in a toy, which should contain a packaging
and promotional material.
In my project, I created Gump. The characteristics
chosen were: undecided, intense and organized, which
can be seen in various aspects of toy.

The project was developed for the MM Gerdau – Museum of
Mines and Metal, one of the most important mineralogical
museum in Brazil. The illustration and collage was used
as the cover of cultural programming in April 2014, which
had as its theme Brazilianness. I worked with natural and
typical elements of the country and then the symmetry
give the desired effect, the material had both print and
digital applications and composed the visual identity of
the museum during the month.

TOBIAS & CORGOSINHO
branding
The project was developed for a lawyers office located
in the city of Belo Horizonte. The briefing was to create
a brand with the goal to convey a sophisticated and
elegant aspect, and also bring ideals of professionalism,
confidence and solidity. The shape and the stroke of the
initial customer names were meant to provide, at the
same time, an impactful and clean brand. The project
was developed on the Imaginar Agency.
