Meadowbank TAFE to be centre piece
of new education precinct - Dominello
MEADOWBANK TAFE will not be sold off and will be a centre piece of a new
educational precinct, Ryde MP Victor Dominello announced on Friday.
Mr Dominello made the announcement at the TAFE site alongside the New South
Wales Minister for TAFE Adam Marshall and Bennelong Liberal candidate John Alexander
but stopped short of announcing new schools at the site.
“I look forward to providing the community
with more details as we progress this exciting
initiative next year,” Mr Dominello said.
His announcement follows a recent community
forum hosted in West Ryde by City of Ryde
Mayor and state Labor candidate Jerome Laxale
where the opposition’s spokesperson on TAFE
Prue Car warned of a “sell off” of Meadowbank
TAFE to property developers.
Mr Dominello said Meadowbank TAFE will not
be sold off.
“Meadowbank TAFE is not for sale and not a
blade of grass will be sold to any private interests
while I am the local MP,” he said.
Mr Marshall also squashed speculation that
there will be staff cuts and building closures
when the educational precinct is being built.
“The proposed educational precinct is not expected
to have any impact on TAFE staffing and
measures will be taken to ensure there is minimal
disruption,” Mr Marshall said.
“In fact, it will help ensure facilities at Meadowbank
TAFE can be modernised and continue
to provide the best services to give local people

Government’s $1.5 billion dollar investment into

“We are creating more than 300,000 new apprenticeships,”

Recently, I announced with Premier Gladys Berejiklian
that the NSW Government has entered into an exclusivity
agreement with the owners of the Peter Board High
School site to buy back the land for the purposes of
building a new high school.
Our schools are the backbone of this community, and
providing this vital infrastructure will allow our students
to thrive into the future. We are delivering for schools
in Ryde as part of the NSW Government’s $4.2 billion
investment in building and upgrading schools, including:
