Greetings from your Hills and Shores Executive. Below are a few items of interest for yourself or
members of your congregation / pastoral charge.
GC42 Remits
It is vitally important that the governing body of every pastoral charge and presbytery cast a
vote on all applicable remits. An absolute majority is needed for the remits to pass, not just a
majority of those that vote. If passed by an absolute majority, each remit will go to the 43rd
General Council 2018 for approval.

or presbytery does
not vote, that is
considered a vote
AGAINST the remit
question.
YOUR ACTION ITEMS
If you have specific remit questions, OR would like someone from our team to
visit your pastoral charge to facilitate a Remit Meeting, please send an email
ASAP to hills.shores@gmail.com to arrange a visit.
Email hills.shores@gmail.com by June 10 th with the status of your pastoral
charge’s remit submission.
