INSPIRATION
Since my husband is a wedding photographer himself,
we worked hard to make our wedding unique and unlike
any wedding he had ever photographed before. Having
traveled around the world on a ship and being proposed
to on a gondola in Venice, a moving yacht seemed like the
perfect place to get married. We incorporated our love of
travel and good food through our table decor that featured
candy and sweets from different countries (the France
table had macaroons, the Myanmar table had candied
fruits, the Turkey table had Turkish Delights, India’s table
had saffron candy, Belgium’s table had waffles, Brazil’s
table had chocolate-covered espresso beans, etc.), a
table card featuring country and candy information, plus
each country had a custom stamp and ink pad so that
the guests could stamp their passports as they went
around collecting the sweets from each table. This was
a great ice-breaker for our 130 guests, plus it gave them
something fun to do while we took photos. To ensure we
greeted every one of our guests, we invited each table
up for pictures with us before getting into the buffet line.
During dinner, our DJ played beautiful live piano music
while our guests enjoyed their meals.
As our guests boarded the ship, they were given a glass
of champagne to enjoy as we began our five-hour cruise
around the harbor. We wrote our own vows and performed
a wine and love letters ceremony; the wine was imported
prosecco from our trip to Italy and it is now locked in a
bloom fresh flowers
