Margo McDermed will provide<br />

four senior driving seminars<br />

over the course of the<br />

year for older drivers looking<br />

to refresh their memory<br />

of the written driving test, a<br />

necessary step to renewing<br />

their license. Each two-hour<br />

seminar will be taught by an<br />

instructor from the Secretary<br />

of State’s Office. The seminar<br />

will cover an overview of<br />

the contents of the Rules of<br />

the Road booklet and include<br />

a sample test. The seminars<br />

are offered free of charge.<br />

older show. There will be a<br />

cash bar, split the pot raffle<br />

and raffle baskets as well.<br />

is designed for older adults<br />

with a fear of falling. A Matter<br />

of Balance is designed<br />

to reduce the fear of falling<br />

and increase activity levels<br />

among older adults. Participants<br />

learn to set realistic<br />

goals to increase activity,<br />

change their environment to<br />

reduce fall risk factors, and<br />

learn simple exercises to increase<br />

strength and balance.<br />

Lincoln-Way Half Marathon<br />

Registration is open for<br />

the 2nd Annual Lincoln-Way<br />

Half Marathon. Race will be<br />

at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 22 and<br />

will begin at Breidert Green,<br />

123 Kansas St., Frankfort.<br />

Current registration cost is<br />

$70. Volunteers are being<br />

sought for the race as well.<br />

Chorale Scholarships<br />

Applications must be submitted<br />

to the school counselor<br />

by March 8. To meet<br />

its mission of enriching and<br />

enhancing musical opportunities<br />

in the community, Lincoln-Way<br />

Area Chorale will<br />

be awarding a scholarship to<br />

one senior student from each<br />

of the Lincoln-Way High<br />

Schools. The student must<br />

be planning on majoring in<br />

vocal performance, vocal<br />

education, or musical theater<br />

in the fall semester of 2018.<br />

Qualifying students should<br />

see their school counselor<br />

or music teacher for the application.<br />
