INT. BAR DAY
The bar is small with one pool table and two bartenders
Stephen a young man works the bar. He looks over to Tom the
older more seasoned bartender.
STEPHEN
Why are we here? No one comes in
till at least nine or ten o’clock.
TOM
You only work till nine. All we
have is prep. It’s an easy shift.
Tom walks to the back room of the bar to get ice.
Stephen works at the bar alone, until Socrates, an old man
in a toga enters the bar.
SOCRATES
Give me a gourd of wine.
Stephen pulls out a wine glass and fills it with wine.
STEPHEN
Is this good enough?
SOCRATES
Not what I am used to, but it will
do. I have things to ask.
The old man walks towards the pool table. Stephen follows
from behind the bar. The old man starts to rack the balls to
play pool.
SOCRATES
So what year is it?
Socrates shoots first. On Stephen’s turn he sinks a ball in
one of the corner pockets.
STEPHEN
Well it’s 2011, but for you I think
around 399 B.C.
Stephen sinks another ball.
SOCRATES
What significance does that make?
Stephen looks over to the bar. He misses his shot and it’s
Socrates’s turn, and he manages to sink a ball.
