DECISION TIME FOR TEN-STOREY
TOWER AND 174 NEW FLATS
Decision time looms for both the Multi-Storey Car Park development and the
development at 5-29 Coombe Road, which are to be heard at the upcoming
Development Control Committee on the 20th February.
The Multi-Storey development would see partial demolition of the car park to
build a 10-storey tower, with 91 new flats. It is
proposed that the retail and gym on the ground
floor will remain.
The development at 5-29 Coombe Road would
see all buildings from the station to the Wok
Express demolished, with up to seven storeys

in its place, containing 81 flats and two houses.
A decision on the proposal will be made at the
Development Control Committee on the 20th February,
7:30pm at the Guildhall on the High Street in Kingston
Town Centre. Everyone is invited to come along for the
final opportunity to have a say. IF you wish to speak, you
are required to register with the Council beforehand -
the deadline for this is the 16th February.

HAVE YOUR SAY ON PROPOSED 40
FLATS IN BURLINGTON ROAD
MICO have been working closely with residents in the Burlington
Road area to campaign against the proposal for a five-storey block
of flats at Park House, the office block near Burlington School. In
light of the strong objections, the developer has now resubmitted
plans for a four-storey tower. Concerns remain with regard to
parking of 40 extra flats, and the increased infrastructure pressure
that this will bring.

Following an exhibition at the Malden Centre,
residents
have very
little time to
submit ‘late’
comments on
the Fountain
Pub Planning
application,
which would
see 43 flats
built on the
site of the
car park and
beer garden.
The pub itself would be retained, although the singlestorey
extension would be demolished. There are
also plans for more retail on the ground floor facing
Burlington Road.
Any resident wishing to comment MUST write as a
matter of urgency to ‘Development Management,
Guildhall, KT1 1EU’ citing reference 17/15272. Plans can
also be found at www.kingston.gov.uk citing this
reference.
EXTRAORDINARY MEETING
TO DISCUSS BLUE BADGE
CHARGES AT KINGSTON
HOSPITAL
An extraordinary meeting has been called of the Health
Scrutiny Panel to discuss the introduction of parking
charges for Blue Badge holders at Kingston Hospital.
These changes were introduced on 22nd January with no
consultation. Under the previous scheme, Blue Badge
holders were not required to pay for parking.
This is having an adverse impact on traffic flow in
Galsworthy Road, with Blue Badge holders opting to
instead park for free on the main road, causing traffic
mayhem at peak
hours.
All residents are
invited to the
Guildhall at 7pm (for
7:30pm) on 21st
February to have their
voice heard on these
charges.
