Note
The Quintessential Gentleman was
created to change the narrative
that has been placed on black men
by the media and society. In 2016,
I was tired of seeing the killing
of unarmed black men and tired
of reading gossip headlines that
negatively reflect the black family
structure and how we are portrayed
in our communities. African
American men are so much more
than what has been previously
shown. We are entrepreneurs,
fathers, actors, and artists. We
are interested in things like our
education, fashion, luxury and
traveling the world. Those are
just a few things that follow in the
next pages. More importantly, The
Quintessential Gentleman show’s
the positive achievements of men of
color. From the stories of how they
surpassed adversity to how they
define their own person style, we
are helping to guide the modern
day man into the modern day
gentleman.
